I'm leaving sky broadband, I had payment of £39 due today by direct debit and future bill showed refund of £43 at end of October
I've cancelled direct debit as it seemed pointless to take my money with mess on chasing it up to get refund. Sky advisor said I shouldn't get charged but language barrier was an issue. Can you please check this is correct.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Craigm87 It completely incorrect, you are billed a month in advance and although you are leaving you still get billed to the normal billing date, any credit would then be refunded, cancelling your direct debit means Sky cannot collect payment when due. This being the case and assuming you still have sewrvice then it is likely it will be suspended which could stop your new provider taking the service.

Hi new service took over from 15th of this month. So no service interruption

As you have cancelled the direct debit Sky will not be able to refund you the £43 to your bank account so they would send a cheque out which might take longer so as suggested above I would reinstate the DD so you can get it quicker and you would need to call to speed this up otherwise it can take up to 6 weeks.
