Issues getting Sky (or any) broadband
I have recently moved into a flat in York and have been having serious issues getting any broadband installed.
I originally tried to get broadband installed with BT and had several orders cancelled and repeated occurances of sales employees putting through slightly different orders in an attempt to get the order through but then getting cancellation emails 10 minutes after getting off the phone.
Apparently it was Openreach cancelling the orders due to incompatibility with the line.
In the end they resorted to just sending me a 4G hub, which I have currently, but is not ideal and has severely limited speeds in peak times.
I then went to Sky to see whether I could have more success there and have been having similar issues.
The problem seems to originate with the fact that the flat is in a gated development and the lines from the cabinet are copper lines.
At the minute I have a Sky ADSL broadband order on the way
Below is the screenshot from the broadband availability checker:
Is anyone able to interpret from that what broadband I am actually able to achieve at the property and the maximum speeds realistically currently achievable?

Re: Issues getting Sky (or any) broadband
@MattDL96 While we wait for your screenshot to be approved, what type of broadband are you attempting to order? Sounds like you might be trying to get FTTC broadband and the cabinet is full causing the order to get rejected.
Either that or there is some issue with a record on a database as to what is running to the property.
Zen Superfast (FTTC), Fritzbox 7530, Sky Q 2TB UHD v3 (x1), Sky Q Mini (x2), Alienware Area 51-M, Panasonic TX-65HZ1000B, Denon AVR-X6300H, B&W CM8 S2, B&W CM1 S2 (x2), B&W CM Centre S2, REL S3 SHO (x2), Panasonic TX-P42G30B, Monitor Audio RS6, Marantz PM7001 KI, Denon HEOS 1 HS2 (x2), B&W P7, iPad Pro 12.9" (5th Gen), iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPad Mini 6 (work)
** No - I have nothing to do with Sky **

Re: Issues getting Sky (or any) broadband
Yes thats correct, I believe all the orders that got cancelled were for FTTC, hence the change to ordering ADSL.
I didn't realise the cabinet being full would be a possibility. So I may be getting penalised and having to get ADSL broadband because the cabinet is full for fibre connections?
Yes I guess a record to a database could also be an issue, not sure what the solution to that would other than trying to convince them to send an engineer out?

Re: Issues getting Sky (or any) broadband
Your cabinet shows avaliable for FTTC orders so that shouldnt be the reason. If your Fibre orders keep getting cancelled maybe try ordering ADSL first then placing an upgrade order to Fibre?
