Issues Connecting Smart Bulbs
Hello all, wondering if someone can help, please!
Ever since changing to Sky connecting smart bulbs to my wifi is a nightmare.
I use the Smartlife app to connect any smart bulbs to my wifi, which used to work great! When I was with my previous supplier I'd follow the connection instructions and it'd take a few seconds for the bulb to connect to the wifi, no issues.
Since using the Sky router, my bulbs really struggle to connect to the wifi, mostly timing out (over 2 minutes) without even connecting. If I try 2 or 3 times the bulb might connect eventually, but not in all cases.
I've split the 2.4ghz and 5ghz connections and obviously using the 2.4ghz, I'm using a custom wifi password (like before), but tested with default wifi password too with same results! Is there anything I'm doing wrong or not considering? Thanks all.

Re: Issues Connecting Smart Bulbs
@Lloydygee check the wifi signal strength near the bulbs which is quite easy to do. Simply download a wifi analyzer app onto a phone these will show the channel and signal strngth for all wifi networks in range.You need a clean wifi signal of -70dB or higher to get a connection (note the minus sign so-60dB is stronger than -70dB)
A signal from a neighbour's network on the same or adajacent channel will interfere with yours which could be your issue. If so switch the hub to use the least congested channel if there is one which these days there often isn't.

Re: Issues Connecting Smart Bulbs
@Chrisee Thanks for replying! 😄
Signal strength looking very strong. Adjusting the channel is not something I've considered so I'll take a look at this evening and let you know how I get on! Thanks!
