Is it Sky or is it something else?

I have a Sky Q and a separate multiroom box, both connected via wireless to my Zen router (Fritzbox) and repeater (FritzRepeater), with both Fritz devices running a mesh wifi between them.  Internet speed shown on the router is consistently 40M down / 10M up, but I am at the end of an overhead 700m DSL connection (and shortly moving to FTTP).

Everything (and I do mean everything) else runs perfectly; I can stream, download, game, browse, print wherever in the house, from PCs, laptops, tablets, mobiles, firesticks - but the Sky boxes repeatedly lose connection to each other and to Sky, particularly if there is an occasional short DSL outage (as there was this morning).  Annoyingly this makes Sky Q the least reliable network system in the house and we are increasingly getting annoyed at having to reset the network connection on the Sky Q box and then on the multiroom unit whenever there is a short blip on the DSL connection.

Is there anything that can be done about this  (apart from changing ISP)?

Thanks

@savcom as sky is not your isp, your q boxes communicate on their own 5ghz wireless mesh. Yiu could try changing the channel on this network from the default 36 to 44 in case its clashing with your fritz box. To do this on the main box, go down to Settings but don't press Select. Instead type 0 0 1 Select to open the hidden menu. From there you can change the 5ghz channel. If it's 36, try 44. And press Confirm.

Re: Is it Sky or is it something else?

Thanks @brianholt. I moved the Fritz Repeater to Channel 64, as it was co-existing with the Sky multiroom box on channel 36.  The FritzBox was already using channel 100, so I left that one alone.  That should help make a more reliable connection between the Sky Q and the multiroom box, but I wonder what impact it would make on the connection to the Internet.

Re: Is it Sky or is it something else?

Hi guys, just wondering if you got your issue with the Sky Q dropping connection between each other? I too have a Fritzbox Mesh network and having the same frustrating problem with the Sky Q boxes dropping connection. Every other device and service that uses my Internet works fine. I have FTTH 1G broadband.
