I have just signed up as a new sky

I have just signed up as a new sky customer and selected the option to add the multiroom option. When you do this it tells you you can have up for 4 mini boxes. I have just discovered that in fact I will have to pay extra on top of the monthly fee to do this, nowhere you you sign up does it tell you this so I want to check if this is true? If so I am about to have to hugely peed off kids this Xmas who will not be able to watch their programmes on their new Xmas presents! If it is something I would have missed when selecting the option can someone point me in the right direction of where it tells me there will be more fees as I cannot find anything. Thanks on advance

@Vickig15 if you want mini boxes then you are required to pay a one off fee for each one, its usually around £50 and that is for activation and replacement or repair for the life of the contract.

Re: I have just signed up as a new sky

thank you.  Do you have any idea of where I would find that information on sign up? Feeling pretty annoyed that this isn't made clear anywhere when you sign up, although I'm sure it will be buried in the t&c somewhere! Now need to decide if I need to sell a kidney so the xmas presents are not useless!

@Vickig15  some more bad news I don't know if you are aware of... If you have 4 mini-boxes, you can only watch two at the same time (though it's possible to watch Netflix on boxes 3 & 4).

@Vickig15 if you go to where you can add the multiroon and click whats included it tells you there. Although it does state in there that 1 mini box is included and further mini boxes can be added after the order

@Vickig15

As mentioned, you will need to pay £50 per additional box, but just a single monthly fee (around £15 per month) which covers all multiroom use (not per box).

Depending on your kids' viewing preferences, would something like a Firestick or Chromecast be a better option? They carry all the various streaming options i.e. Netflix, Prime, Disney+ etc.

If I’ve helped today, give me a like.

Sky Stream and whole home.
