Internet connection not reaching TV

Hi, I've recently moved house and had to move to BT broadband, but have kept my Sky Q hub for the TV. The internet connection in the house is weird and set up in a cupboard under the stairs. The TV is across the hall in the living room, so I cannot connect the broadband and sky Q hub physically together and my TV does not now have an internet connection.

Is the Sky Q hub able to operate wirelessly or do I need to physically connect the two?

if it can operate wirelessly could I get a broadband booster to help with this problem?

Any help, gratefully received!

Hi @Caroline+G 

if you have changed broadband provider to BT then Sky will require you to return the Sky Q Hub router. You need to switch it off completely and connect everything to the BT Router.

Yes, I have returned their equipment.
I am now using the BT broadband equipment, but it is not possible to plug the sky Q hub into the broadband equipment due to the location (broadband in cupboard under the stairs and Sky Q hub and TV in living room)!

Sorted!

I spoke to a Sky engineer who talked me through what to do - easy when you know how!

Settings on the TV have an option to change broadband provider and then input the wireless password, this then allows the broadband hub to talk to the Sky Q hub wirelessly, without the need for any booster systems!

@Caroline+G  Do you really mean "Sky Q hub" as in internet broadband router, or do you mean 'Sky Q satellite receiver' for your Sky dish to tv interface? They are 2 completely different items.

 

also, you say that you have just moved house - did you get Sky to do the equipment move for you? If not, have you at least told them that you have changed address?

I am just another Sky customer!
