I'm guessing they have not got a Sky+HD box but just a normal sky+ box so they have no HDMI output to plug the cable into

Did you manage to connect your smart tv to a sky he box. I'm thinking of getting a smart tv, but have no idea how to connect it to my sky had box. I'm not very tech savvy and some of the answers are confusing to me. Thanks

Easy, then. You just need to connect an HDMI cable from your Sky box's HDMI socket to one of your TV's HDMI sockets. No tuning or anything required.
When you want to watch Sky, just turn on your Sky box and your TV might automatically switch the input to the HDMI port. If it doesn't use your TV remote's input button (it might be labelled source or AV rather than input).

Great, that sounds simple. Only thing is, my remote doesn't have any buttons labelled source or AV.

Ok great. I've got it. Thank you so much. I said I wasn't very tech savvy. You must think I'm stupid. Once again, thank you so much. I truly appreciate your help. 👍

I have now connected sky to my new smart tv but the screen keeps going off and then comes back on after about a minute with apps showing at bottom.
When i go into SOURCE it is saying that the HDMI port is UNKNOWN.
