How to add a 2nd remote to SKY Q box

I have a SKY Q box with a voice control remote which was set up by the engineer. I want to add a 2nd remote so that I don't have to go and get the remote from my husband every time.  How do I add it?

hi @seawright46 you cannot set up 2 remotes to work with voice control (& via bluetooth)

Although you can set up 2 remotes one via bluetooth with voice control and the other as Infrared only (which needs line of sight)

If you want to do that then say so (as I am feeling too lazy to think through & type the steps unless I have to)

@seawright46Unfortunately you can't have two Bluetooth controllers (voice ones) paired to your box at the same time. (only voice ones are now available unless you buy an IR one from amazon, ebay etc)

BUT

If you get a new voice one but don't pair it then it will work with everything but voice control, you can still set it to control the volume on your TV.

@nigea99. Thanks for your reply .  I am not bothered about voice control with the 2nd remote but I would like to be able to adjust the volume with it.  (The Home, Back button work okay).

Here goes (I think)

In case you need to,  reset the remote by pressing & holding 7 & 9 together

Then pair the one you want to use as infrared only by pressing 1 & 3 together to pair it to your box (initially by bluetooth) & go through the process indicated on screen to pair with your TV

(I always recommend using the find it for me after selecting the make, rather than trying to select the specifc model) - do follow the on screen messages through regarding testing volume up / down etc

When it is paired with your TV then Press 4 & 6 togetherto switch off the bluetooth and reset it to IR only

WHen you have done that, repeat for the one you want to continue with Bluetooth & voice control (this will have been overidden with the process above which is why you need to repeat to re-pair it) but this time do not press the 4 & 6 to reset to IR
