How do I quote someone's post in this community?

I think someone told me this years ago, but I've forgotten and can't find the post any more.

When I hot the "reply" button on someone's post, I expect it to be quoted in my reply (or at least give me the option), but it doesn't.

What's the trick?

To quote a post don't click the reply button but instead hit the arrow next to the thumbs one on the post you want to quote then hit the speach marks icon.

Ahhh..  I had to hit the "..."  on the toolbar to get the quote symbol pop up...!

Thanks for the advice - would have taken me a while to find that, if ever.

@PeteRG41 I always use my iPad on this forum. I don't get that option. I presume it's the same on any mobile or tablet device.

I can quote on a mobile and iPad as the speech marks are there for me on them.

@caesarome I've just gone onto my old computer upstairs and the quote marks are there (as you can see). When i go back onto the iPad I have one line less in the toolbar, so no align left, align centre, align right, justify, decrease indent, increase indent, quote marks, insert a spoiler tag (I've been wondering how and why users use that one), and a few others too. The iPad is a Mini 5 and only a year old.

My computer is still powered by an old bloke with a wind-up crank lever so I think I'll stick with the ipad but thanks for your update.

@Daniel0210 there's a known, long-standing issue with the quote button on some devices. I guess Khoros will get round to fixing it (and the other known-about forum faults) at some point, but from past experience,  I wouldn't hold your breath.......

I have just this minute worked out how to get the quote marks on my iPad. I'm very pleased with myself! When I turned the iPad to a landscape type view (only because the charger was plugged in) an extra 3 dots appear in the toolbar. Pressing that brings up the extra line including quotes. Cooking on gas 😂 Every days a school day.
