How do I add my Soundbar to Sky Q Remote

Hi

I have a Majority Snowdon 2 soundbar. However I can't seem to control the volume using Sky Q remote via optical cable. I have the IR code is there anyway to input it? 

I can control it using line out however that is using the TV volume. 

It's just frustrating having to use 2 remotes .

Hi @StewieGriffinsDun 

Q Bluetooth remotes with Voice control use Brand and model and not codes.

If your Soundbar is not listed check Other Brands.

Run the setup again by pressing 1 &3 together on the remote and see if Other Brands is listed.

I have the same product and the brand / model does not appear in the supported products list. Under Other Brands it jus says it is not compatible, but I have not yet discovered the 4 digit universal remote control code, do you have this code? have you tried setting it under settings > Setup > Remote Control > Sky Q Remote > Control a speaker system > I know it.

then press and hold 1 and 3 on the sky remote together for 2 seconds > Enter the 4 digit code for the soundbar > try changing the volume.

If that does not work then I do not think there is any chance of getting it to work.

Note, on my other Sky Q mini box I managed to connect a Megacra Soundbar to it and Megacra did appear in the list of supported brands, but on my other sky Q mini box it does not appear.

Have just set up the sky q remote from new by pressing 1 & 3 together and it worked great. I am using a HDMI ARC connection. If that helps.

I struggled with my small JVC and Samsung tv. Eventually I changed from optical to HDMI -ARC and looked up the code for my Sky Q remote. Once I changed my output  from optical to HDMI on my tv in settings I can now use my Sky Q remote for both.
