Horror channel changes

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

Noticed today that Horror channel has become Horror Xtra in its 317 slot, that now only starts from 5pm.
Also, the original Horror channel content has moved to a new channel called Legend on 148.

Very odd name changes in my view.
Horror channel has been on Sky and elsewhere for many years and everybody knows what it was (yes, not just horror).
Now its split over two channels, one called Legend, an odd name change that sounds a bit naff.

But also Horror Xtra, a mix of content (not just horror) but xtra to what as the Horror channel has gone.
Who sat round a table and decided that. Hopeless.

I watch Horror channel regularly through the week and record quiet a lot from it.
So, annoying its now split over two channels, that with plenty of repeats through the week does not need to be.

Will need to reorganise my Sky Q favourites, so they both sit side by side, as I seem to have a CBS Reality channel now where Horror channel used to be.
Must admit, I had no idea this change was happening as saw nothing mentioned from Sky, on here or actually on the channel itself.

@Alf+O  You are not talking to Sky via the forum, nor will anything be "changed back" on the back of a forum post.

The channel is not owned or controlled by Sky, you need to speak to the channel operators  AMC Networks International UK

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Why ask us?

Why ask Sky?

Contact the Horror channel. It's their decision and their prerogative.  Nothing to do with Sky.

Re: Horror channel changes

Yeah i seen this coming months ago.  What you are seeing is the beginning of the end for the way in wich we watch and identify with tv.

If you notice everytime a new tv company launch their own app there is a change across tv platforms channels. So when disney+ added star to their brand we saw the end of the FX tv channel on the various platforms. Because much of the content from these channels obv being owned by fox was moved to the disney app.   So in this situation now we have another new app paramount+. Paramount owns CBS so now you are seeing the CBS brand being taken of the "tv guide". Comedy central will be next to change you can almost guarentee. Prob over the next 10 years it will keep happening and watching tv will become opening apps rather than channel surfing.  My problem with this is -

watching tv used to be about looking for programming that you the individual like to watch. Everyone had their own favourite genres . TV apps while handy have made it so we dont really have our own individual prefrences. We just look on social media to see what everyone else is watching and follow that.  Youve seen the facebook posts "can my friends recommend some good shows on netflix" tv apps are eliminating our ability to make basic choices based on our individual preferences. Even sky themselves are changing their identity. Ive grown up with sky and those channels we all became familiar with amd hold memories are no more. **bleep** is sky max!? Lol. #bringbackskyone
