Have a reminder function for programmes

The Reminder function on Sky + was very useful.  Sky Q must work to make it available again.

I am gutted  I just had sky Q fitted and Zi can't add reminders WHY  this in a busy life is great as I forget when my favourite programmes are on I never Record so this needs to added again it's so much better I didn't know this Gutted

I have just spoken to a Sky representative at Bluewater Shopping in Kent telling him what I thought of not having the reminder feature. He told me it will never be added as we have the record feature. I then stated that I didn’t want to record programs just the reminder. I then went on to say that if I did record why couldn’t the system flash up a message to inform you the program was about to start so I could switch channels. He said he would pass on my feelings.

I do think that although this is a 'forum' sky don't appear to read the comment. After all we the contributors must be a very small proportion of those dissatisfied by this lack of feature. How many people are annoyed about it but didn't google how to fix it and stumble across this site, then sign up and actually comment? We're the tip of the iceberg but no one is listening. If they want the recording figures or it's too hard to add reminders then a simple on screen to say   Programme xyz recording is starting, means you're reminded to switch over and watch the thing! Sky is really ignoring the customers here. I also find that the 'upgraded' broadband is so much poorer and weaker. Come on sky we're paying a fortune for this!!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

So annoying not having a reminder function anymore.  I often don't want to record a programme but just want to be reminded when it's on!

I am quite annoyed the 'remind' function has been removed on the Sky Q box. I used it constantly on my HD box and miss it a lot.  I have been missing quite a few programs and although they have been recorded, I would have preferred to watch them real time and just simply forgot.  Come on Sky, put that facility back in, please!

I have just spoken to a member of the Executive Support Team at Sky, like the other team members she had no idea what Sky Community was! I told her about all our comments on here regarding bringing back the reminder facility and asked for the email of where to contact to put in a complaint because we are clearly being ignored on here., <removed>

@Kei+M- so this thread is being read!

Would be nice to know that this has actually been raised with people higher up the company and for someone to admit a bad design decision has been made here.

Sky needs to stop fobbing us off with "the additional recoding capabilities is all we need" and actually push out a (simple) software update.

Whats the point of this community if all these threads are created and to then ignore the top ones?

@Kei+M I think the issue is not about voting. There are enough complaints and requests for the reminder feature to come back but clearly being ignored. Sky products are not cheap and as customers if we want a feature or function then surely Sky should listen and act. I am still struggling to understand the logic to remove this function on the Sky Q box. Recording a programme and being reminded to watch a programme are two different things. How do we get this restored because at the moment our comments are being ignored?

A very useful feature removed for no reason. Having the ability record was on the SkyHD, as was the reminder, so removing the reminder in place of recording is not a valid reason. Please reinstate.

We look at all the ideas but these things take time; months, years, and some will inevitably fail to materialise at all.  When we have more details about the status of an idea we'll let people know but I'm afraid there's not a big green button I can press that instantly implements an idea (as much I would love one.....).

@Kei+M  I understand you use Agile as your development process. Speak to the product owner and get this added (to the top) of the backlog...

This is missing basic functionality and should be a high priority. We are told it was a design decision but it looks more like a missed requirement to me.

I know as a moderator you can't agree with us but this really needs escalating.
