Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out morePeople regularly ask why the Reminder function on Sky+HD is not there on Sky Q. They use it remind themselves when something they want to watch is about to start on another channel.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreCould be useful, but could also be hugely annoying - seeing reminders on a mini for something someone else wants to watch on a different box in the house, for example. Siblings could have great fun reminder-bombing each other!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreBest to keep this section to suggestions for improvement rather than reasons why not. There's enough of that back and forth in the actual Reminders etc threads! Let Sky deal with the logistics of what you mention.

Used the reminder Function allot on the HD box for Live Programmes
Would be good to have on the Q box

Quite annoyed I’ve found out this function was not available until after installation of sky q. The reminder function was useful for the older users.

We used to use the reminder function very regularly. It provided a useful prompt to ensure that you didn't miss something you had scheduled in.
Secondly, will other Apps be provided in future.

Used this function a lot. Don't want to record everything! Bring back set reminder facility..

Cant believe theres no reminder function on the q box. That is utterly ridiculous, if I knew that I honestly would have went to Virgin. There's no excuse why there isn't one. It's great if you've got your max programmes set to record and you wanted to record another programme but you cant, you can just set a reminder yourself so you dont miss it. It's also great for live events BRING IT BACK

Please bring back the reminder function. I want to be reminded when to switch over. Why take something away and replace it. Why not just add so people have the option to record or switch over.

As an older user I found the reminder very useful and will recall miss it.

So annoying that this isn't there! I had multiple reminders set up for favourite programmes, bc with small children you forget it's Monday and that thing is on at 10:35 until its 11pm. And reminder that David Attenborough is on in a minute.. so much so that I googled how to do it and found this- I only had it installed on Saturday. Such an annoying backwards step!! - please put it back. If only on my telly 😞😞😞😞

I had Sky Q installed yesterday and am hving it removed next week
Our life style and work patterns means we dont have the time to watch hours of recorded stuff, we just want reminding when programs we like to watch are on.
Also, I watch alot of live sport, I want reminding that what ever is coming on, I dont want to record i and miss it!
I think, after some googling around i have found the reason there is no remind function.
If you download\record it shows as watched!
this means all the stuff you now end up recording but never watch pushes up skys viewing figures even though you end up deleting it all without watching it
Its just a scam from sky to show how many people watch there programs when actually they dont watch then end up recording and deleting .
The remind function doesnt add to the viewing stats, thats why its not there!
I would also like to see the results of the survey they claim to have carried out.
I have been with sky since almost the very first day, as a long serving customer you would have thought these people would have been the target for such a survey.
Sky claim it was random although they never publish the stats on number serveys, age group etc..
just another provider scam to push up there own popularity

Just had skyQ box installed, if I’d know before there was no ‘reminder’ I doubt I would have switch to a Q box.
reminder was the most important feature for me.

This really is something useful and beneficial to Sky. Having a small prompt of when a show is about to start, especially Sky's own content, would increase viewership for many shows I'm sure.
From a consumer point of view, I don't really want to record everythig I just want to watch as it airs. This is why the reminder would be so useful, otherwise I have to use my phone or something.
Please consider this Sky.

Really miss the reminder for programmes on least popular channels so I don't have to scan through pages of tv guide. I don't want to record them, I want to watch them!
