Well after I had the 6 dropouts in 2 minutes on that Depeche gig and got really annoyed, I tried to reproduce it the next day so I could test going direct to the TV over a second cable...
But ever since then it hasn't happened more than once or twice in a movie so I can only conclude that having a 2nd HDMI cable hanging out of the back of your TV with the other end disconnected, lying next to your sky box, pretty much solves the problem.

Another week passes of the same constant issues...
Mini box disconnections
Mini box pixelations
Mini box freezing
Mini box stuttering
Zoom calls unstable
Downloading anything from main box disconnects mini boxes
Downloads take AGES on Sky Q
Poor speed on TV Netflix and Prime so poor picture
AVR disconnection from Wifi
Sound drops on recorded programmes
Other than that, it's been just peachy 🍑

@Chodley if you mean provider, I was with BT until the Sky engineer told me my issues was the BT hub.
Sky since December. Probably worse.
I have Fibre with estimated speeds of 66-78. Get nowhere near that and constant disconnections.
Since I introduced the HDR box. It's no coincidence

That's the annoying thing, that it's so random. I've had 4 days of nothing whilst watching Your Honor on demand. Last night after watching that, I switched to Disney+ to watch an episode of The Xfiles and every 5 minutes the audio kept glitching. Ended up switching to the app on my TV with no problems.

@Gridders No, I mean what wifi inside the house. Is it just the BT "smart" hub? I would highly recommend getting a mesh of even just two access points. An investment but makes wifi so much more reliable in any house bigger than 3 rooms.

I’m glad I found this thread, you can add me to the list of new posters experiencing almost all the same issues, I think.
I’ve tried all of the ‘fixes’ that can be found on the internet but haven’t contacted Sky about it because that’s just a PITA. Being told to do something again that didn’t work the first time isn’t the best use of my time.
For a few months now I’ve had:
Mini box disconnections and having to restart my SKY Q box to fix
Intermittent pixilation when watching live tv/recordings on mini boxes
Mini box freezing
Mini box stuttering
Error codes galore which when searched for ultimately end up with switch it off & on again as the fix
Sound drops on programmes
I’ve reset all boxes (to the point of having to sign in again to all apps), reset wi-fi, re-positioned router, disconnected all sorts of other devices and a few other things I’ve forgotten about. All to no avail.
Speed reading this thread I see that Sky don’t seem that bothered about fixing the issue so I suppose us loyal customers will just need to live with it until they can be bothered.
Sky Q since 2017 (Sky since 2002) – Sky Q UHD box, 3 mini boxes and Sky Superfast Broadband.

Its a shame that sky just don't really care about loyalty the attitude just seems to be suck it up and wait and maybe just maybe we will fix it one day until then.... SKY BELIEVE IN **bleep**TER !!!!

@Gridders If you keep your sky 1q box and minis off the network what speeds do you see on your local network and how do they compare to the speeds reported on the router ?

@Robbie46 Don't conflate the nightmare wifi networking of SkyQ (which I suffered for 2 years but have largely resolved now) with this specific sound dropout issue that I believe affects every HDR Q box and is the issue Sky are supposedly working on but has no fix yet.

@Chodley TBH I have no idea what's causing the issues I've experienced just that it seemed to happen all of a sudden and is so intermittent getting an engineer out would be a waste of time. 
What I do know is that when it doesn't happen I love Sky Q but when it does I want to throw it in the bin. 
Oh and my other half also thinks it's my fault and I should be able to fix it.

Just for a show of hands, I have the sound cut out issue as well. Got WiFi off on both boxes, both boxes connected via Ethernet, even tried dropping picture output to 1080p, no luck. Sound dropped once in a hour Bbc download.

Pleased tosay my missed call from sky came yesterday.I received a discount and a further apology for the fault continuing. I'm to be called weekly until a fix is in place.This is good news 👍. I do feel for all you guys who are in the same boat ,keep your dialogue with sky going.Will update you all .(Feel I may have a few weekly calls coming !)

I am starting to think it's happening when downloading of the same or another program is happening.
It's a bit frustrating to be getting no feedback from sky on this forum
