@ozsat  Yes, and Europsport 4K doesn't look too bad in HDR 🙂

Doesn't anyone watch / listen to the sport rather than the equipment any more.

It reminds me when HiFi first came out everyone was talking about how good/bad the equipment was but forgot about the music. A friend showed me how good his sounded except he had the left and right mixed up and the orchestra was the wrong way round, I thought it sounded very strange but he was happy.

Violins on the right?  It's an outrage...

Interestingly (or not) the current seating is incorrect for any music composed more than 100 years ago ; )

@piotrch

Yes, this introduction of sports broadcasts in HDR is a real retrograde move...

Re: HDR sport

There are some early stage Olympic football games on Eurosport. Press red button for UHD and HDR.  It's a bit choppy at the moment, but this could be down to the host broadcaster.

I hope the BBC's coverage will be a simple red button option but I suspect it'll be via iPlayer.  Hopefully Sky Q will support the option.

So little information released though. You shouldn't need to visit a forum to find out about this stuff.

Also, Sky said F1 would trial HDR, but again, which races? When? Same with football, the season is a month away, will that be in HDR?

The availability of F1 in HDR is outside Sky's control. The British GP was used as an internal test event (by FOM, not Sky) for HDR, so they're working on it.

Indications are there won't be any UHD coverage of the Olympics from the BBC.
