HD picture quality not much better than SD on Sky Football

I have noticed for a couple of weeks now that the picture on The football is nowhere near Hd quality.
I have a 2x Sky + boxes and 2 x Samsung Q60 TVs.
Pictures setting on box is 108i. But HD is fine on other channels.
i find bbc is poor quality too. I put it down to less quality cameras being provided at games. Has sky cut costs as well? I dont buy that HDR explanation. I can't see a workaround for my sky+ boxes.

it's the same on my sky go app on my iPad, so altering settings on the box would not affect that anyway. Bt sport HD stands out at you it's that good!

Sky used to be like this too. What's happening please.

it can't be cameras as in the studio is worse too!

Totally agree! I have a new lg c1 and the picture between sky HD and bt HD when watching football is so noticeable! What has happened? Have Sky dropped it quality when filming?

Try emailing Viewrr@sky.uk

They claim there's nothing wrong with the picture and have no other complaints like it. Have a look at SkyQ site too as I put something on there too. Feel free to comment on there as there are a few who can't seem to get why me and 'Angrier' have a problem.

The Liverpool game was worse than the Villa game yesterday. Have you got a sky+ box and 4K tv? My pic on SkyGo on iPad is better, have you tired SkyGo on a device? I have 2 sky+ boxes and 4 k TVs.

They won't admit it but I reckon it's to make us upgrade to SkyQ.

Nice conspiracy theory, but upgrading to Sky Q wouldn't make any difference to picture quality, as it's the same broadcast signal.

If you would care to explain this theory considering Sky +HD & Sky Q use the same signals from the same satellites.

@Mark39 So why do some have the problem and most not? Do you work for sky?

It would be helpful if sky would come on here and explain the issue and if they plan on fixing it or tell us how to fix it.

Picture from a Distance is awful. Close up is fine.

Even the engineer agreed it must be to do with the cameras being used.

@GD1 @Mark39

How can it be the same signal? Doent SkyQ uses the WIFI signal and sky+ The satellite dish?

Sorry don't mean to be rude but What's an Oracle?

@Asdert  They both use the same Satellite for delivery of the live channels they also both use Broadband for On Demand.

The  banner in bold appended automatically at the top of my posts explains I'm not Sky staff.

No idea about any issue with picture quality for Sky Sport as I don't watch the channels. I don't perceive any change in PQ in the channel,s I do watch.

It's highly unlikely that a staff member will comment here, as it's primarily a forum for customers. I see you've raised it with Viewer Relations, which is the right thing to do.
