Google / Nest WiFi and Sky Ultrafast FTTP
There seems to be a bit of confusion in other threads, so started a new one for clarity.
I'm looking to have Sky Ultrafast FTTP (not Gfast) activated asap, but need some clarity on compatability for my Google / Nest WiFi setup. I've spent quite a bit of money on it, so not keen on replacing it just to change ISP.
Can anyone comment on compatability with Sky FTTP - can I just connect the Google WiFi directly to the Openreach ONT?
From what I've read, if the local Openreach network supports DHCPv6, it should work, as this will handle the authentication rather than using the "older" DHCPv4 + Option 61 approach (which Google WiFi doesn't support). Is this correct?
If I'm in the unlucky 20% where DHCPv6 isn't yet available on the Openreach network, I'll need to use the Sky supplied hub, and as long as I keep my LAN devices on the Google WiFi subnet and don't connect anything directly to the Sky hub it should all be fine anyway, right?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Paul

Re: Google / Nest WiFi and Sky Ultrafast FTTP
The Google Nest Wifi setup certainly doesn't support DHCP Option 61 and those around haven't had a great deal of success getting Sky to connect using DHCPv6 PD from what I've seen...
The only solution would be to place the Google Nest Wifi mesh into an access point mode if it supports it and connects it to the Sky router. This isn't the ideal solution but should work okay.
