Re: Glass as a second TV?

@landofmiles TV Licence should be funded by £1 per household per month collected by Council Tax/£2 per commercial premises on Business Rates and sent to the BBC, equality.

Instead the BBC hire Capita and waste licence money on 'for profit' companies.

Doent matter who's in power at Westmincers they are clueless how to best deliver anything even with existing abilities to use existing systems... ie CT/BR BBC collection.

@rscott Swit is a small country. U.K. isn't so minimal payments  like I said above.

Council Tax should collect a £1 monthly and Business Rates collect £2 per premises for BBC funding, AND we U.K. finders should have access to ALL BBC Worldwide content on BBC iPlayer/Website.

BBC has a corporate structure with public funding, it runs like a co-op with mandatory customers when it should be running like national broadcaster funded per U.K. property as per the local tax collection in place already in local council authorities - and the BBC should be made to use a large percentage of that for local programming with the rest going to national BBC programming.

Er, Capita are one of the biggest collectors of Council Tax (they're contracted by many councils).

Re: Glass as a second TV?

BBC should switch to a subscription model. If their services are as valuable as they say it is then people will pay the £13.25 a month fee, equivalent of what they currently force upon people.

People are waking up to the sham now.  With the amount of people cancelling their TV license, something will need to change soon.

@12roundsRemember the TV licence funds other things rather than exclusively the BBC.

"Part of the fee also contributes towards Freeview and Freesat, and towards the UK broadband rollout, funding local TV channels and S4C, the Welsh language TV channel, as agreed with the government as part of the 2010 licence fee settlement."

Quite possibly, but as I've repeated here several times, that's ultimately a political decision, not one the BBC can make: they were created from and are bound by their 94 year-old Royal Charter, its repeated renegotiation with government, and all subsequent legislation formulated by political parties across the spectrum.

Re: Glass as a second TV?

@TimmyBGood It has been brought up by ministers already that it could be scrapped in 2027 when the Royal Charter expires.

@12rounds

The centenary of the original Charter might well be considered an appropriate moment for radical change.

Up to 3, but would also need the £10 per month whole home pack (aka multiroom)

Re: Glass as a second TV?

So although you would have all the capabilities of the sky glass in your bedroom and front from for example you would still need that Puk and that would like your main account payment for both teles ?

Has anyone actually seen these glass Tv's in the flesh ? Are they like OLED? And is there a delay in the sports? If you have 2 glass tvs will it drain your wifi more?

@Minkyman23  If you only need 2 TV's then you wouldn't need a puc. Alternatively get 1 Glass TV and use the puc on your other TV (unless you want to replace the 2nd TV also).

If you get Sky Glass TVs for each room, you will not need the pucks for those rooms.

Pucks are to access Sky Glass service on exisitng TVs you have. But you must get at least one Sky Glass TV
