Re: Glass as a second TV?

@GraemeBucknall77 @Each puck is £50 up front. First one is free. You buy the pucks. The q mini boxes were only loaned out by sky and have to be returned.

@GraemeBucknall77 whatever you think Sky ought to do they have decided that you are limited to one Sky account per address and that account cannot mix any two TV services. This isn't new you cannot have Sky+HDboxes and Sky Q. It is a commercial decision rather than strictly technical and is a take it or leave it option.

It is pointless arguing there are loads of these decsions like why you cant have pucks without the TVs. It is the way Sky choose to do business simple as that.

Re: Glass as a second TV?

Chrisee,
All I'm simply doing is putting my view forward, that I think sky have got this wrong, not allowing Sky Q to run along sky Glass. To that end I've cancelled my glass order.  You say sky have never allowed 2 services to run along side each other such as hd & Q. The big difference sky Glass is a internet based services so it's not interfering with the signal what's coming into the house via the Coax.  So to that end like I said in other messages sky have got this wrong.  Also to end to my point. I have a top of the range tv and Atmos sound bar in my living room already. So that's why I've ordered glass for a bedroom so I'm not downgraded my quality. If I continued with my order  I'd  also have to use a puk on my main tv relying on internet based tv for 4 TV's as well as the wife working for the bank from home using internet calling and also online gaming for my son.
Sky have got this completely wrong and should allow sky glass to run along side Q.

Re: Glass as a second TV?

I agree Sky have made a poor decision and would not be surprised if it changed.

interestingly Sky sent me a survey asking why I had decided not to take up their offer of Sky Glass having originally registered my interest. One of the options I was given was being unable to have sky Q alongside Sky Glass , which suggests they are already aware of the limitations  they have chosen to impose.

@Craig+Ov technically it is possible to have both Sky+HD and Sky Q you just need the right type of LNB on your dish. Similarly Sky only allow one account per address even where it is technically possible to have 2 Q systems operating on two separate networks with independent broadband supplies say one for the main residence and a second for an annex. They will not supply a second broadband service even if a home has two phone lines. I could go on.

You are entitled to your opinion but all I can tell you that in the briefings we have been given we have been told that Sky will not permit a hybrid account or a second account at the same street address. I have been an Oracle on these forums for several years and am used to how Sky works and their lack of flexibility. They may change policy at some point in the future but dont hold your breath.

Re: Glass as a second TV?

I received mine yesterday & wasn't unboxed, took me around 20 minutes to fix the stand, then realised I only had 1 remote which came with my puck! I was also left with a lot of cardboard 😂 I have managed to have a new remote sent out
