Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI assume All4 as a whole on glass is being looked into? As its not just specific to certain content, its practically all of their content.
Thanks

Our Sky contacts have raised the issues with All4 content internally, so I'd think they're looking at everything.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@rscott Can only hope! - The 4viewers twitter account have been telling me that content should be showing for days but it never appears! Seems they dont have total control over when and how the content is to show up on all4 on Glass.
I think as a regular user it is difficult to understand why some all4 apps (eg. IOS and apple tv) have the content but all4 on glass does not, and i dont think sky could ever expect a regular consumer to understand the ins and outs of such workings. It should just be there and work!
Glad to hear that Sky are working with Channel 4 to hopefully see this resolved.
Press releases like this never help; sky press release - All4
Thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI have just sent a lengthy email to ALL4 requesting they explain how the apps work and why they look identical to each other apart from the content that is uploaded and made available.
Knowing the technicalities of how this works, and what our consumer expectations should be would certainly help.

@rscott Red Bee's disaster recovery plans and DR data location resilience certainly seem to have been somewhat mediocre.
The missing content has been impacted by the Red Bee fire.
The All4 F1 highlights (Mexico GP) are not expected to be delivered.
If you have questions about missing or, incorrect content our Viewer Relations team can point you in the right direction. They can be contacted at viewerR@sky.uk

And yet they have been delivered to other All4 players on Apple TV, Panasonic TV, iPad, Samsung Phone, etc.
Why does Ch4 give such low priority to delivering content to Sky?
Why can't the Sky Glass TV All4 app retrieve its content from the same place all these other All4 apps get their content?

You'd think that as Sky does tend to have a monopoly for supplying tv to many that they'd make sure it all ran smoothly wouldn't you !

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Mark-Br Thanks for this, however as @tarbat says, how is this media available everywhere else?
The brave new streaming world of Glass could be over before it's even started if this debacle cannot be overcome.
Makes an absolute mockery of Sky's delivery model when it's partners cannot guarantee content they sent to every other streaming device out there.
Totally unacceptable and unworkable. There will be no takers of a platform like this all the while this sort of nonsense occurs.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI have been in contact with the sky viewer team and they refer me to the latest fire at redbee.
They refuse to explain why it is the way @tarbat expalins it is.
I also asked if they could explain why Sky Go has the missing episodes but not the sky glass and i got no refence to it, Sky glass has started showing it flaws already. If a content providor is going to have issues with supplying content why cant Sky have a deal that allows them to use the Sky Go versions delivered to Sky Glass in the interim?

@tarbatIt's nought to do with C4, all apps use the API calls. It's sky's EPG failing to fetch data when the user asks for it, and instead appears to be updating at random background intervals, and it does so through sky's servers.
Sky devs have the ability to block all content to any given channel if they so wished, and they also have the ability to create pre-set intervals so customers can only see new content when Sky let them.
For whatever reason (and because of Sky developers), Sky's EPG isn't pulling directly from All4, it's not indexing when the customer selects the channel, show or day at the time they ask for it. It's even worse on the pucks.
