Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I'm not sure I understand the message on the complaints page - either they only take complaints from people with Covid 19, or they're too busy treating people with Covid 19.  If you're not infected, you're just supposed to search for information on the MySky app, rather than complain.  Even Domminic Cummings had a better excuse than this!

I'm paying Sky a lot to most watch BBC and Netflix... with no NeverMiss service I think I'll stick to iPlayer and Netflix - and maybe a few more streaming services - and still end up better off.

@bob1234  Not sure what you mean by yours being merged with mine? I literally only wrote one sentence on the ideas board ( which has 62 Likes so far, a bit so-so, no idea how many Likes are needed for an idea to be implemented ). Thanks for the vote though ( @whiteonline  I've added my vote to yours, too. )

I got confused I posted an idea which Sky combined with another idea but lost track of which one.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

This service should not have been removed.

Even all these years since Sky+ was first introduced series links STILL don't work reliably.

Frequent problems include:

* new series not recording automatically

* two episodes a week of everything recording (e.g. primetime and some 2am repeat)

* series links breaking half way through a series

* old repeated series being recorded automatically

* programmes refusing to series link due to some 'error'

* programmed not having a series link option available at all (frequent Channel 5 problem)

etc. etc.

I don't know why it's still to flakey as the data that drives the software is very simple being keyed really only off a series and episode number.

Sky Never Miss at least served as a good backup service for when the box doesn't work as it should, which it often doesn't.

Ian

What can we do about this? If enough people make a fuss might Sky reconsider?

Without knowing the precise reason for the removal we don't know if complaining is futile or not 🙁

@Annie+UK  but you know the reason why, so in your opinion,  would it be worth it?

My set up;
Sky Q - full package with 2TB HDR box & 4 mini boxes, all hardwired by ethernet.
Sky Superfast Broadband.
Panasonic 50" 4K TV.
Panasonic 4k Bluray Player.
Sonos 5.1 Surround Sound System.

I know the VAGUE reason that is only one step up from not knowing a reason so I cannot determine the usefulness of making a complaint

I have complained but doubt if it will do any good, Sky's new moto seems to be "the customer is always wrong" You do wonder where these big companies think the money comes from.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I have complained again, Please bring back Never Miss. I would like to formally complain about not being informed before you removed a service. It is one of the most useful tools on your website, for reminders of seris old & new that we see advertised on your channels. The sky Q 'recommendations' does not offer a simular service. Trawling through your search function everyday is not an option. We have sky for the sports mainly, for me I like to record series & watch when I've time. This will make me rethink getting the sports through a different & cheaper streaming option, we've been with sky for over 20 years UK & Ireland, I defended sky to get the service here in Ireland when we moved back 2 years ago, because of the customer service & bits like NM on your site. At least consider permitting your customers to the details held on our accounts including NM lists of programmes. Thank you

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

@kildare123  Yes that's what has annoyed me the most in that they removed it without even letting us know or have the chance to make a copy of our lists.

I have emailed their complaints address and received the expected canned responses, had a good will gesture but I'd rather have my NM list!

Only way to complain is to take your custom elsewhere which is what I will be doing.  Streaming services are the way to go, following a tv schedule will be antiqued before long.

I'm guessing they removed NM as people used it to watch films on free channels, and I expect it's an attempt to make us pay for more on demand content, but this was so poorly implemented.  Also they've probably anticipated that as only a "small number of people" as they put it used NM they are happy to deal with any fallout and complaints as a result.  I've been with Sky over 10 years but this has certainly changed my perspective of them.

Personally, I doubt it. Whatever the reason was for its withdrawal was, it must have been both urgent and compelling enough to do so at the drop of a hat with no prior warning. The fact that the underlying reason hasn't been give to even front line staff, as evidenced by the posts here, underlines that.

Personally again, I think it's inconceivable that Never Miss will be brought back for those reasons. Sky might possiblydevelop a new system at some point though I doubt it will have priority in their development plans.

All speculation, of course,  but based on my experience of the way a FTSE100 sized company operates.

I've spoken at leangth to someone at SKY and the one thing they would not tell me was why it was removed.  It was a "business decision" and that's all they would say. The only thing i got was they agreed that the communication about this was very poor. I got the impression that what ever the reason was  it's unlikely to be coming back, 😡

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I emailed them and complained, they told me the same thing "A business decision"

Let's be honest this isn't coming back.

I do wonder if this has anything to do with the Covid19 situation?! The staff that normally run the page have maybe been made redundant.

This would explain the fast process of the shut down 🤔
