Re: Epgservices sky never miss

@NicholasJA

So pleased you've found it. I've been waiting for nearly 3 years for series 2 of Chicago Med to come back......I like to watch the 4 series in the same order they were originally shown so crossover episodes etc follow on.

As you can imagine I have quite a backlog now!!!

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Yes I can imagine, I'm sure you'll enjoy ploughing your way through it! As I said in a previous post I've had seasons 2,, 3 and 4 of Gomorrah recorded for over a year on my planner taking up about 50% of my allotted space so to finally be able to access season 1 is a real bonus. Many thanks for your help in finding it.

Do you think hat taking away somethinf actually useful is progress? it's laziness by sky and they are also trying to force people down a route that they want which appears not to be what there clients wnat. Bullying is a good word to describe it.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Whichever way you look at it, the removal of Sky Never Miss is a body blow for customers like many on here who used it to identify and record the majority of their programmes. They have also tried to cover its loss in a somewhat pathetic manner by claiming that, 'There's an even better way' to do this and then directing the customer to Top Picks where there is literally nothing other than 6 or 7 prrammes available to rent. How can nothing be better than the option to search for and record thousands of programmes? Which marketing guru decided to make this insulting and unthruthful assertion? Why was there no consultation or expalnation and why does this situation persist? This has all been and still is a huge insult to subscribers who are paying for a service which has been significantly diminished. Can anyone tell that I'm still a little annoyed?!!

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

...and...why was the Never Miss Service withdrawn during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic? This is surely a time when many people are utilising their Sky TV packages more than ever. It also represents a time during which it is very difficult to contact Sky, believe me I've tried. Alternatively, maybe this was chosen as the optimum time to get rid of this service and blame the pandemic for a multitude of sins at a later time. Who knows? With the lack of any dialogue, no-one it seems.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

As suggested in a previous thread comment, I sent the following mail to Sky customer support and received their answer which is also below;

"Dear Sir or Madam. Please refer to the Sky Community thread regarding the removal of EPGServices Sky Never Miss which has many posts. I strongly agree with others on this thread. Never Miss was very useful and I relied upon it. Extremely hacked off with Sky for taking this service away with no reasonable explanation, not advising us prior AND not even letting us at the very least retrieve our list of films and programmes we had loaded up on it. SKY, PLEASE BRING BACK NEVER MISS. Please review your decision. Best regards,"

"Thanks for your email about our Never Miss Service.

The removal of the never miss service was business decision.

The never miss service was a complementary service that Sky provided. It was not part of your subscription service.

As for your favourite shows, any that you had previously set up a Series link to will be picked up automatically by your Sky Box when they return. For those that you were not recording, we do advertise returning shows quite heavily and if you happen to miss the adverts, programmes on Sky channels are available on the Catch Up service for a minimum of 31 days after they air. Some much longer.

Whilst I appreciate that you enjoyed using this service and its removal has caused an inconvenience for you, for which I am sorry, we will not be reinstating the Never Miss service.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us.

Best Wishes,

Chris
Viewer Relations"

Unfortunately, they appear to focus only on newish programmes and were silent as to why we were not advised of the removal and the possibility of retrieving our lists. I used Never Miss quite heavily for older series and films. I think they don't fully understand what Never Miss provided.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Thanks, I'd read your post previously and think that it's a lacklustre and slightly insulting response from Sky, hiding behind a 'business decision' which is pretty meaningless. Surely every decision that Sky make is a 'business decision'. Then to try and suggest that it was a 'complementary' (sic) service and 'not part of the subscription service', i.e. a freebie which you've had too long and weren't entitled to anyway is dismissive. For me Sky Never Miss was a fundamental and intrinsic part of the service and without it I no longer want my Sky subscription. Their customer service is appalling and they should take a leaf out of Amazon's book where it is uniformily excellent. By the way, I'm not a serial moaner/complainer, in around 24 years as a Sky subscriber this has been my first complaint. I'm trying to get out of my Sky contract as I don't want it anymore but if I'm not successful I won't be renewing from Feb 2021.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

It's great that we're seeing complaints raised around this, even though it looks like it's a losing battle.

As I've mentioned before, I highly recommend emailing the CEO direct. The more we fill up the inbox, the more notice will be taken. And it seems that (as with most big corporations) CEO complaint emails are dealt with by a specialist team and are all replied to. The impact of this is a cost to sky in having to pay these people to reply, so a CEO complaint email will actually have a small financial impact. Multiply that by a few hundred though and they may start to take notice.

It's going back a long time, but there have been successful campaigns to reinstate cancelled services and tv shows. This one in particular sticks in my mind:

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I'd like to add my voice to this. I've used never miss for the last 10 years since first becoming a sky customer and it's been extremely useful.

This seems like a penny pinching measure from Sky give the large amount of money we all pay for our subscriptions.

The suggested alternative is certainly not an acceptable replacement!

Come on Sky - listen to your customers and reinstate Never Miss

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Im a Sky Q user and just discovered this service has been cancelled.  Fuming.

You were given incorrect info that Sky Q users couldn't access it as I used it all the time.

Not giving us the list of programmes we had added is damn right rude. I'd spent ages adding them all and had done a lot of research to find them.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Why can't anyone from Sky respond to the complaints on here?
