Huge fan of Star Trek so was really looking forward to it returning to a platform that's part of my Sky subscription. And yet we don't have a downloadable program option. I am confused? Why not. Cannot be down to licensing they own it. Prodigy can be downloaded! But discovery or new worlds. It was fully downloadable on Netflix. Looking at the downloadable content and you think, surely they can make it so, sorry about the Star Trek ref 🙄

That's a question for Paramount+, the ability to download content to your phone or tablet using the Paramount+ app has got nothing to do with Sky.

ParamountPlus is owned by Paramount Global, formally called viacomCbs. A company listed on stock market
Costa is also a stock market listed company
They are not part of the same group.
Where did you get that idea from?

Yes SKY & Paramount+ are owned by the same global company, Comcast like other companies are also owned by them but operate primarily as totally separate companies - although it does allow for deals such the offer of Paramount + at no additional cost for SKY Cinema Subscribers

No worries, Paramount+ especially has been well promoted with the Comcast name quite prominent in a lot of press releases since its launch and with Sky being the biggest push across Europe, its easy to associate more than them just being a 'major' partner.

Well guys. Colour me wrong. Went onto my Paramount + app tonight and we have new downloadable content. Including Star Trek. I would like to say I did this thanks to this forum but I didn't. But I do wonder if this was being monitored. Anyways I am off to beam down some episodes. 😂

For your downloads, assume you have a Sky+ box.
Or are you talking about using the Paramount+ app on a phone/tablet?
Me as a Sky Q user and not having any downloadable content on the Sky Q box, as its all through the app on the box. have tried some downloads on the phone/tablet app and all worked well.
Star Trek on the phone/tablet app has been there since the 21st launch if I recall correctly. But, have noticed quite a bit of content is not available to download. Maybe rights or just not on the Paramount UK source servers yet.

Yep I am using the app. When I first looked it was not there. But the app did not show series either. I did not look at the series after that first attempt. Instead I went to the all downloadable content page which hardly shows anything. So now I am checking the series each time. Like the way it counts down the days you have left to watch the content. Will let you know how I get on. Still find the Sky Go app to be one of the poorest. So many times I get hit with connect to the internet to use. No good if your in the air. And on programs you get an awful lot of pixilation which you don't get on other apps.

Sky Go I think we all agree still offers a poor pq at times and is a poor second to many of the other apps we use.
To be fair, it does provide differing content types, as it does provide On Demand content as well as a varied channel offering of live TV, so some pq compromises will have to be set within the app for reliable viewing. whether connected to a Sky Q box, wifi or on 4g/5g.
Not sure if you are already on it, but on the Play store (Apple/Google) app pages, where you install the Sky Go apps, allow you to join the Sky Go beta programme that gives you an early trial of a build. It also allows you to email the Sky app developers with any issues.
Also, it may be worth reporting your internet connection problems to the Sky apps team via email
