I have been signed up to Disney plus for the last two years. My annual subscription ends at the end of March. If I cancel my annual subscriptiom with Disney and add Disney plus to my sky account/bill, will I be able to keep my current Disney plus account?
Also what benefits will I get subbing through sky compared to what I have now when logged into the app using my annual Disney subscription?

I don't know the answer to your first part about keeping the same account.
Personally I don't currently see any advantage of switching to pay via SKY as I think it is the same price
for the monthly sub.
If you do switch to pay via SKY you cannot cancel online & have to call them to cancel so harder to dip in & out as it were.
You cannot get an annual sub with it's associated discount via SKY .

The thing I am most interested in is side by side searches and suggestions as with Netflix. Does paying through Sky offer this over using just the app, again like netflix.

The searches don't depend on your subscription
They are dependent purely on the integration of SKY's systems with the other providers.
Often people who do not subscribe don't like the fact that content is highlighted and returned in Searches (myself included although now I do subscribe to some of them so it is now more handy for me)
