Contract renewal
I have recently renewed my sky TV/ broadband and had to pay a £20 handling fee. I have been told by a family member that if you are a sky VIP customer then you don't have to pay this. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks.

Do you mean Admin fees? Admin charges are usually added to discounted deals, and it’s normally £10 per discount. If you negotiated the deal on the phone and the admin charge(s) weren’t mentioned you need to call Sky again. They should be able to listen back on your original call and if they weren’t mentioned they can potentially cancel them.

Just to point out @Davembop that all Sky customers have VIP status on our accounts so you can't avoid the free being charged due to this status on your account.

Hi @Davembop
It depends on the type of deal and what level of Sky VIP you have. Most admin fee's for example aren't charged if you're a Diamond VIP customer (had Sky for more than 15 years).
