Charges doubled

Iv had sky just over 12 months now they have almost doubled the charge for broAdband and sky Q tv. I certainly can't afford this and want to cancel but having trouble finding a contact number or email to discuss if they can do anything about this .I am not phoning a premium number and getting charged to be played music for a long period while they reap the benefits of the call charge deliberately keeping me on hold  .if sky can't give me an easy way to discuss the problem cancelling my payment is my only option and this will stand in any court if they try to bully there way to rip me off

@Diesldog Your not talking directly with Sky, this is a customer helps customer forum only with no account access,you can’t cancel/downgrade online I’m afraid

Note that if your within a minimum term for the service you wish to cancel you may not be able to

Also note you have to give the required relevant notice to cancel which is 31 days for tv and 14 days for broadband

beware most sky contracts have a minimum term of 18 months


If in ROI make sure the flag in bottom right hand corner is set to ROI and refresh the page before selecting an option

Sky don't  use premium rate phone numbers.

 

Cancelling your payments won't cancel your subscription, puts you in breach of contract and absolutely won't  'stand in court'.

I have tried the phone number that came up  I was kept on hold for over 50 minutes  just checked my mobile bill that call That dropped before they answered  cost over €40  .I can't keep paying this so how do I get rid of this rip off company  I was paying them €70 pm now they are trying to get €130 pm  not a chance  . Iv got a good space for advertising on a big trailer if they want some bad publicity

You will need to speak to Sky as nobosy can do anything for you via here, so perhaps try cally at quieter times like 7am just after the phone lines open or after 9pm.

Calls to Sky from your Sky landline are free. It would be cheaper to buy a £10 handset, if you don't have one, rather than pay €40 of mobile charges.

You can always write a letter to give notice as per the contract you agreed.

 

Simply stopping payment is not the way to resolve this.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

My sky talk line don't work ,I bought a handset from curry's won't recieve or make calls but handset is fine on a relatives system   Trying to get sky to sort it is so difficult . Another problem was the fibre optic receiver often stops working as it was never fixed to wall correctly and the cable is damaged  again sky can't be contacted.  Why can't they simply give a contact number to get the probs sorted not send you round in circles doing pointless tests
