Sky have already said it's possible to pause, fast forward and rewind live streams, so we know they're different to NowI must have missed that. All I can see mentioned is "Live pause, rewind, restart". No mention of fast-forward.
Surely thats a given. Imgine you accidentally lose the remote down the back of your sofa and the rewind button gets stuck. Once you eventual get the remote back, you could be forced to watch none live TV for eternity. 🤣

Presumably you'd either press the back button, use restart, or select another channel. I just find it strange that Sky excluded the words "fast forward" from "Live pause, rewind, restart".

I can't see why not, after all, most catchup was 'live' at some point. You just won't be able to go past the 'live' stream.
I bold assumption given that's not how it works on Sky's NOW TV service. If you watch something from the live broadcast, you can't pause, rewind, fast forward at all. You're locked to just playing the live stream. Even if you've paid the £5 boost subscription.
I presume Sky will be using their Adsmart technology to deliver the adverts in programme.
Sky have already said it's possible to pause, fast forward and rewind live streams, so we know they're different to Now
You won't be able to FF a 'Live' stream, if you 'Watch from the start' I'd guess you can FF until you've caught up to the 'Live' stream. I can't see how it'll work otherwise.

Probably because some people would think they could literally Fast Forward live TV.

How would streaming work with say "live sport" like if I am going to be an hour late home I would normally set it to record then start it late when I get home how does sky glass work in this situation?

Unfortunately it's difficult to give you a definitive answer as the behaviour of Glass alters from channel to channel and even on certain pieces of content within a channel. That's one of the current downsides.

If I understand correctly, there is no option to record, but any content available on catch up/on demand can be streamed? The problem with that, is not all programmes are on catch up/on demand. For example, I would currently record a Champions League match from BT Sport via Sky Q, to watch later. As far as I'm aware, that would not be possible with Sky Glass as BT would not make those matches available on catch up. Similar situation with Sky golf coverage. Unless watching live, a full day's play would not normally be available at a later date. I rarely watch "live TV" and probably 95% of my viewing is stuff that I've previously recorded. I don't see how Sky Glass could work for me.

If I have SKY glass and I want to watch say strictly on Saturday night but I miss the start, do I have to wait until it becomes available on demand or can I just start it from the start of the programme say and hour later that evening?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf the live broadcast has finished then you have to wait until the data is transferred to the relevant catch-up service before it's available for viewing, and how long that takes is based on the workflow within the channel concerned. If the program is still in the process of being broadcast within its live timeslot then the 'watch from start' feature should function.

How do we set up a list of favourites. We only got Sky Glass yesterday!
10 Dec 2021 08:53 AM
@Happi+Valli Hiya. If you go to Settings on the TV, then go to Viewing Preferences there is an option there that allows you to manage your Favorites

@ianmerseyside Hiya. Since the latest update you can now add live matches on BT Sport to your Playlist and view later

Example. The wife has just put James Martin on. Missed the first hour. On sky q she would simply have recorded it. She is unable to rewind as it's a live stream and the current episode is not on the hub. There are a few other scenarios I won't bore you with but the playlist is a massive step backwards to the record facility. 👎🏻

How can i do it
