Got new tv with hdmi cable. But our 12 year old sky box uses a scart lead to connect to old tv. Can we get box up grade. It also has a dodgy standby button.

Sky have not manufactured Sky+ boxes for over 6 years now, if you want a HD box then you're best to look for a secondhand one, the DRX890 and DRX895 series of boxes are the newest

Sky don't have an y New Sky+ boxes as they have not been made for years. Any upgrades are likely to be to Sky Q.
If you wish to remain with Sky + I would have a look online for Sky +HD boxes these are second hand but realatively cheap.

@Geoff+Cut Sky will probably be able to sell you a refurbished Sky+HD box if you make it clear to them that you don't want to upgrade to Sky Q. But probably cheaper to look for a used box from ebay etc as previously posted.

Is there any reason not to go with Sky Q?

- You don't own the equipment
- You are restricted to 2TB of HDD space
- Not all Sky+ features are available
- You have to share the entire HDD with everyone, Sky+ has its own HDD per box
That's a few reasons I can think of

I was thinking the OP's reason for not going with Sky Q given that the OP is needing a new box. IMHO, I would go with Sky Q because I think it works better.

Yes, I know. That's why I asked the OP. I'd like to know if the OP doesn't want Sky Q and if so, why.

It is not really your concern why someone does or doesn't want Sky Q or why.
