Can't get Sky Yahoo emails on Windows 10 Mail

You could try another email app such as eM Client which can be downloaded from :

https://www.emclient.com/download 

Just select Yahoo from the list of providers and use your usual Sky ID password when prompted.

I'm assuming your usual password works OK when you log into Sky Yahoo webmail?

Hi Thanks for the info. Downloaded and installed eM Client and set it up Ok and got my emails including other folders that Win 10 Mail won't show. 

But for whatever reason Win Mail started to work and at present shows all the mail I sent to my second BT email address.

Due to all the false (PayPal for instance) emails I wish to stay with the Windos Mail as it shows the senders email address which eM Client dosn'tso hope everything stays Ok. Think Sky Email is the problem just now due to the changes and will keep eM Client as a back up.

Thanks to all who sent in there help thoughts.

Everything is now bak up and running as I can now send and receive emails without any rebooting or changing enything. SKY???????

@Wee+Dave , Glad you are up and running.  With eMClient, you'll need to download and activate the free licence within the next 30 days.

In eM Client, sender's details can be seen by clicking on email and then hovering mouse pointer over the from name.

Thanks for the info. Win Mail failed this morning and again I had to reboot and add my sky address.

It's working at present but 1 more failure and it will be gone and eM Client will take it's place.

Late afternoon on the 10 and Win Mail working as it should without further problems from last post.

As I wasn't alone with the problem I think there was a failure to see a 'what if ' in the new setup with yahoo.

I've given up use of my beloved Outlook 2010 which worked well on my Win 10 Desktop PC until the recent changes.

So I tried Win 10 Mail....

Selected Yahoo, tried the one-time password and that failed to let me in...

Tried my original password, which worked, but Mail then gets stuck creating the account (Does that mean copying the profile?). After 15 mins (at 23:30, so not during the busy daytime) its still putting its dots up.

Logging into Yahoo every time is not ideal ( and I don't have the emails on my own PC for future reference).

Where do I go from here?

Can I also set it up on my laptop?

You should be able to get Outlook 2010 working again by using a 16 character generated password using the link below:

https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps 

Windows 10 Mail : suggest deleting the account and then setting it up again. Be sure to select Yahoo from the list of providers and use your normal password.

You continue to use your normal password fro logging into Sky webmail - the 16 character one is just for apps like Outlook 2010.

There is no need to stop using Outlook 2010. It will work fine, just use a generated app password instead of your usual account password with it.

I too couldn't set up the Windows 10 Mail app to access my Sky email account despite following the instructions here https://www.sky.com/help/articles/getting-started-with-sky-yahoo-mail

Found this thread saying to choose the Yahoo account rather than "Other Account" and it worked first time!

I just tried setting up Sky Yahoo email on Windows 10 Mail using Yahoo as suggested above but get the following message "Something went wrong. We're sorry but we were unable to do that. Error code 0x8019019a"

Does anyone have any ideas?

A google search suggests that is due to a corrupt Mail app, so I would suggest removing the app and reinstalling it.

I to have spent many hours on this subject but to no avail. There must be an answer out there?
