Can’t cancel tv package

After 1 week trying to cancel my tv package spending 1.46hrs on a phone for the lad on the other end to hang up after I told him I wanted to cancel my package - to been on the whats app messaging 6 days and talking to 5 different people they still can't cancel my package as they keep asking stupid questions until it's time for the office to close I'm left with the only option to now cancel my direct debit for both tv and broadband and they can then ring me instead of me wasting me time. Crazy stuff especially after been a customer of theirs for 17 years 🤯🤯

@birdman2 Stopping your direct debit won't work. You will just have your services restricted, incur fees for non/late payment, get a bad credit score and have debt collectors on your back.... they won't ring you back and that still won't cancel your subscription.

 

The best time to ring Sky is apparently just after 7am or mid evening when the lines are quieter.

@birdman2 Your contract doesn't end until you cancel it in the required manner giving the appropriate notice. It's your discounted offers that end.

@Daniel0210 @having told them via what's app messages 6 days ago and speaking to there advisors (which I have the messages saved) do these days count towards notice??? Sorry about all the questions.

@birdman2 If the cancellation has gone through you should have received a confirmation email.

It is shocking that cancelling the sky service is so difficult. 

I am also trying to cancel. Have tried email, telephone and resorted to cancelling my direct debit and now no one will even answer my call without saying there is a payment to reinstate and switch services back on. But I don't want to switch the service on I want to cancel. How can you do this???

You need to reinstate your payment method before Sky will talk to you as cancelling it is the last thing you should do because as you have discovered it causes more problems than it solves.
