Can Nick Doherty be asked to stop talking so much

The Open.  Dear Sky, does Nick Dougherty get paid by the word?  If not can you ask him to exercise some restraint. His constant gabbering and urge to fill any silence is highly annoying and distracting. He clearly isnt trained to commentate and is certainly no Peter Allis or Ewen Murray. If not, can Sky reimburse me for battery usage as I am now having to watch large portions of the Open with the 'mute' button activated.

I too have to watch the golf coverage on Sky with the sound muted when it is time for the condescending Nick Dougherty to spout non stop drivel - I have worked out that it is safe to unmute when the round reaches the final 4 holes when the excellent Ewan Murray is handed the mic, what a superb professional, as well as the rest of the team are, which is more than I can say for Dougherty, who is ruining my enjoyment of otherwise excellent coverage of golf by sky sports

I agree....unfortunately he seems to be Sky Golf's 'Golden Boy' (for some unfathomable reason) 😐

A good commentator will let the pictures do most of the talking, and how I wish this guy was sidelined and the excellent David Livingston was brought out of retirement. The man was a total professional.

I would have to agree with the sentiments of the post too and in the wider range of sports commentary where it seems to be a case of talking as much as possible and almost ignoring the action.

Multiple offenders in darts and tennis too if you step into other sports.
