I don't think it's the internet that is down, it is the domain name resolution (DNS).


Sky's servers at 90.207.238.97 and 90.207.238.99 appear to be dead or not answering queries. Both servers are not responding as of this post.

 

In simple terms this means when you try and go to www.google.com your computer or device asks Sky DNS servers where that is, they don't reply, so your device doesn't know where to go.

 

The bad news is that I can't see any way of changing these servers on the Sky Hub, they are hard coded. You can change them on individual devices, and they should work, but that's not much help for things that have no easy way to do this.

 

If you can change your device DNS servers to something like 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 then you should find that "the internet" suddenly works.

Not working in Harrow HA1 Broadband router showing no light on Internet and Voice is amber

tried calling Sky but it has automated machine saying we are having technical issues so can't talk right now 😞

Also down in PR5 (Preston, Lancashire) area too.

hub had 3 green lights and amber light, TV saying looks like no internet connection.

Unplugged the hub, waited 3 minutes then rebooted, now Green - No light- Green(takes a few minutes for this to light up) and Amber for voice. Internet no light at all.

 

At least i know its not on our side as many others around the country are reporting this.

My internet is down too, about 1 hour already. Router has 3 green lights, rebooting didn't help.

It's a damn nuisance they only put in a new hub 2 weeks ago because it kept crashing and sent open reach out to sort. But gone through all their checks and have full green lights on hun and nothing is working.
