Re: Broadband disconnected??

Still down in Portsmouth area. My router shows no Internet light, orange voice light and the log shows xDSL link down.

Re: Sky broadband

You are lucky, seems you have a connection. Change your DNS to 9.9.9.9 and 1.1.1.1 and you should get Internet.

If you had no Internet light like I currently do, that means the xDSL connection is down.

Re: Broadband disconnected??

Oh that's not good. I didn't even need to do the reset this time. I just checked and was working again. Maybe you'll be on soon if not, you might need to go to settings on your tv, then setup, reset, confirm and press n hold wps button on router and see if it connects. That's what I had to do other times. Although it wouldn't work lastnight and I kept trying. But just came on itself at 5am. Hopefully you be on again soon, it's been a pain in the backside lately, especially when we all pay so much for the service.

Broadband not working - progress updates?

We woke yesterday morning to discover we had no internet connection. We had 2 green lights and 2 amber lights on our router.  We completed all of the usual troubleshooting before calling the Sky technical line, who ran through the same stuff we had done ourselves and confirmed there was a problem and said he would escalate to the Network team.

Does anyone know whether you can see progress updates of the escalation, as currently all I know is what he told me, but my Sky Account has no details of my fault or the escalation, although you can clearly see that my broadband is not working?

I dont really want to go through the IVR dance again, answering multiple questions before getting to speak to a human, however I fear unless I do this each day for updates then I'm not going to get anywhere.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

Re: Broadband not working - progress updates?

@PaulJ55 It's been down since 10:00 last night, with only 3 green lights and amber voice light.  Have done a power off twice and reset twice.  All lights are now green, but everything is back to factory settings.

Re: Broadband not working - progress updates?

Also had the same problem in Cheshire - dropped out at around 10pm, first 2 lights were green, followed by 2 Amber lights. All working OK this morning though. Seems to be a regular thing though lately, with it either dropping out or being really slow.

Re: Broadband not working - progress updates?

@PaulJ55 I too have had the same issues. The Sky web site has a message displayed this morning stating they are aware of the issues and they should now be fixed.

it also states that if you still have internet problems to reset your hub this morning.

mine went down around 10:30pm last night (19/9) three green lights and talk light amber.

i tried resetting last night but got nothing.

i have woke up this morning and all four green lights are on and internet fine again.

We have had ongoing issues with internet since around May time, around once a month and usually around 10:30 - 11pm at night. We had a sky engineer come out each time but by the time they get here everything is working again. Our issues normally last for around 24 hours or sometimes around 48 hours.

Our last appointment with a Sky engineer was on Monday 11th Sept and he was very thorough, he ended up replacing the backplate on our wall phone socket and a new router hub.

the engineer suggested if it keeps happening we may need an open reach engineer to come out and replace the front plate of the wall socket as sky engineers cannot replace these.

Last night was our first issue since the visit but also the shortest issue as resolved overnight so unsure if related to our ongoing issues we've been having.
