Billing

Hi there so I called sky the other day about my sky bill and asked if they could take payment on a diffent day as I had another important bill to pay so my payment was due today and I asked for it to be taken on the 5th of July and he said that would be fine it put it down on my file but iv woke up this morning gone to pay my important bill and sky have taken there payment when he said it would be ok to pay it on the 5th of July instead

Sky bills are created 14 days in advance so if you wanted to change the date to July you would have needed to do this more than 2 weeks ago. Your August bill should be taken on 4th August though and then on the 4th each month.

@Rand As you've probably gathered we are fellow customers here. You would have to ring Sky again to speak about the issue but don't forget your bill is generated a couple of weeks before your billing date so on speaking to Sky 'the other day' may have been too late for this month.

  • One to discuss with Sky as the advice was wrong or the system had already gone ahead.
  • Incidentally' Sky would have tried again in 10 days if there were insufficient funds to pay the bill on your due date.
Passing on the tips I have learned in over 25 years as a more than satisfied Sky customer.

There are two possibilities that I can think of.

 

The adviser you spoke to may not have changed the payment date, but simply acknowledged that your direct debit would be refused today and that the bill would be paid on July 5.

 

Or that they did,change the payment date to 5 July,  but the direct debit for today was already being processed and it was too late to stop it.

 

You can check whether or not the payment date was changed here: https://www.sky.com/myaccount/bill

 

You would need to check directly with Sky to see exactly what has happened. We're customers here, I'm afraid.
