All recordings have disappeared, can’t record or rewind

All my recordings have disappeared, can't record, rewind or fast forward. Don't know if there was any update but standby light was on when I returned home. Tried rebooting hasn't worked. Is there anything I can do or have lost my recordings?

I would have thought that suggests a critical failure: maybe the hard drive.  If completely resetting by removing and replacing the power supply doesn't change anything, you'll need to book a swap-out.

@Timelord1963 there is a system recovery procedure here if thst doesnt work then the hard disc in your box has failed and the box needs replacing.
