A different Sky Q remote issue

Hi, I've read many threads on here about Sky Q remotes that won't pair and I've followed all advice given yet mine is still faulty.

It has worked for a year on my Sky Q mini.  Yesterday morning, the box turned on and channels changed but it suddenly had no voice search and no control over my TV's volume anymore.

I changed the batteries, no joy.

I held down 7 and 9

I reset the box at the wall

I held down 1 and 3, both from the TV screen and from the menu settings

I reset the network settings of my mini box

I reset the wifi router

I even tried the downstairs remote and that won't pair to the mini either.

I presume that this means this issue is the box rather than the actual remotes.

The box has internet connection as Disney and Netflix both work.

Basically, it seems to be working via IR but not bluetooth (I think). Every time I get to the pai r 1 and 3 page it says 'unsuccessfull'.  Literally tried everythign I can think of or found to read on foirums.  WIll ring Sky later but I never seem to get any expert advice, it is always the basic 'reset box' etc.  Has anyone ever enoputnred this issue and sorted it?

Thanks for any tips!

if you've tried all the troubleshooting steps and still haven't had any joy then just call Sky and see if they'll replace it for you. If noy they are only £20-30 depending where you buy one

Hi @Alex19804

Try a Reset Settings in the mini hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
Press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.

Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3

Re: A different Sky Q remote issue

Thanks for the replies so far.

I have tried the hidden menu reset, no joy unfortunatley.

The remote isn't the issue so can't buy a new one as the downstairs one works fine on the main box but won't pair upstairs either to the mini.  This makes me think it is the box.

Hi @Alex19804

I suppose you could do a Factory reset on the mini in the same hidden menu.

Re: A different Sky Q remote issue

Thanks, was just looking at this. What do you lose on the mini with a full reset (other than what i lost with the other hidden reset option).

Definitely time to call Sky. Just say it doesn't work (don't go into detail) and they'll send you another one. Remember, the equipment is rented, so you shouldn't have to pay for it and Sky shouldn't resist sending you a replacement.

Re: A different Sky Q remote issue

Annoying. Rang and had to go through it. Explained how it can't be the remote as the downstairs one wont even pair to this box either despite working in the lounge. She is sending out a new remote! Pointless
