With Sky Q, downloading a movie in UHD/HDR only takes 1 or 2 percent to download before you can start watching. Then you can watch the movie while the rest of it is downloading. So Glass is not miles faster. Feet faster maybe. On a 47-50 meg Internet connection it took may 1-2 minutes at most to be able to start watching.

Well to me, zero seconds, over 1-2 minutes is "miles" faster.  Sorry.

If you're going to insist on being positive on here then you're going to have to get used to people saying you're wrong 😀

No I won't.😂

Mine arrives tomorrw, 55 inch and one puck.  Nervous because I have 50 mps at the hub, just hope it will be enough.

@Anonymous Any chance you can guage the 'lag' by comparing the clock on Sky News to your phone.

Approximately 40 seconds.

Re: A Positive Review

Sport gamblers are going to be rather unhappy about a 40 second lag on top of the satalite lag.

Then they can stay with the satellite platform. Simple.

Nice to hear some positivity first thing in the morning!

Can you confirm if Dolby Vision is available with the Disney+ app?

Also, is UHD available with the BBC iPlayer on Glass?

My apologies, disney is "only" hdr.  Not dolby vision.  I wrongly assumed without checking.

I don't think 40 seconds is too bad at all. I was expecting much more. For myself, I was concerned about getting goal notifications on my phone before seeing the goal. That won't happen at 40 seconds (assuming the lag is the same across all content).

I actually watch quite a lot of football with a delay on it on my nvidia shield, i just avoid goal notifications and social media while i'm watching it.

Re: A Positive Review

@oj01 @But the 40second lag is on top of the satalite lag. So how long would that be from watching at the stadium?

@LGUser No, he said that Sky News was 40 seconds behind his mobile.

My Sky News (on satellite) is 3 seconds behind my mobile.

The record time for the horses to cover the 5 furlong sprint track at Epsom is 53.69 seconds from start to finish.

Thanks for checking. That's pretty poor. Hopefully they'll get an update to the app to enable it.

Is iPlayer definitely showing the UHD HLG versions of BBC content? It's often not immediately apparent on the iPlayer home page - you have to search for UHD and play the version with UHD marked on the top left of the tile.

Re: A Positive Review

Thanks for the feedback so far. Sky/Disney really need to update the app for DV. Perhaps this could be raised with Sky. No reason why DV should be missing.

however when watching the football last night in UHD on the puck, that was an issue and basically didn't work.  Hopefully sky will remedy this in the future.

Thanks for your insta-review. Please keep us posted on the puck footy problem as that could frighten the natives - especially as your 66Mbps BB speed should not be the cause. A lot of people will be wanting to use the puck with their main TV.
