unfair pricing

That the energy to explain it all

[Removed]

my tv/braodband t is three times the price as my neighbours have just been offered. I have spent hours on the last few days trying to sort out a reasonable price and get rid of a cinema service that I didn't want and just agreed to try after being talked at and talked at about it until desperate to get the engineer out of my house I agreed to sign up to

hours of being talked at by a bot who refuses to understand the words end contract or leave sky and then by an agent

it's entirely deliberate pressure selling tactic.  They would not give me the information I wanted to leave (what needs to be done to the sky q satilute) but eventually I agreed new price with them and then they haven't implemented it and when I called up about it was told they're not gonna order that because I pay £120 a month now so I can't have the services for £52

around in circles again and I cannot do it anymore so of course I either have to keep paying them which is impossible even though I do work. It's very expensive to pay for all the Disability adjustments I need and I cannot afford this and proper food,

So I am

giving uk and just cancelling the direct debit

@Elaneh

Cancelling your payment method is definitely not a good idea and it will cause you additional problems.

The relevant services will be restricted, you won't be able to call Sky, the account can't be cancelled, late payment fees will be added monthly and then Sky will involve a debt recovery company which will affect your credit rating.

@Elaneh  To accuse anyone of discrimination you need to proove it, I assume when you joined Sky originally you had all the relevant discounts given to you.

Your disability has nothing to do with you paying the current listed prices as new customers always get the better deals, it is up to you to shop around for any better deals.

I agree it's best for you to cancel, when you have the opportunity to do so, if it's too  expensive for you. What you can't do, is simply refuse to pay for a service for which you've already contracted, without there being repercussions.

Re: Disabled people get ripped off

I honestly no longer think there is any other choice because I cannot cancel due to the fact that I cannot get the sky Q widget out of the satilite.

So my contract keeps rolling until I give them 31 days notice and return all the equipment

The worst thing is that When I took out the contract, they told me I really have to have a sky Q satellite. And they came to install it (which was a great big fuss as they kept sending engineers who said it could not be done and here's the number o f mate you can pay to do it!! And in the end got the CEO email Where upon it turned out, it was actually very easy for them to install it)

So having been tricked because I was too stupid to enquire why  they weren't just beaming it straight from my Wi-Fi to the TV... I got forced into the sky Q system which now costs me £120 a month. And will do so until I can pay some cowboy to get it down... as sky out them up for disabled people but don't take them down.

if I cancel Sky without this, and they say all equipment must be returned within five days or it's another month.. I cannot use the TV as Sky block use of satilite

they really conned me .

better now to get a court hearing to go to and trust in justice than keep going through this catch 22 it is affecting my mental health

I've no idea of what that means.

However, Sky have an army of lawyers who will, no doubt, be happy to respond to your odd allegations.

@Elaneh

Sky supply satellite dishes for all Sky Q subscribers not just those with disabilities. The dish and associated cables however transfer to the home owner / account holder on installation and Sky do not remove them.

If you want to cancel and you are not in minimum term just phone sky and tell them you want to give 31 days notice. Yes they may try to persuade you to stay but stand  your ground and insist you want cancel, I sure you they will. As far as retuning the equipment at the end of the 31days notice period sky will send packing and return address label,  I don't know who told you it had to be returned within 5 days that is totally incorrect, Sky give you up to 60 days for them to receive the equipment back. All you have returned is the sky box the remote, power cable and HDMI cable that connects to you tv. I presume you only have the one sky box but it you more than one that needs to be returned too. Sky will send you enough packing to return all. The dish you property is your and dose not need to be returned. It can stay where it is for as long as you like and will no more affect. Of cause if you want together some one to take down and despose of that is up to you.

Re: unfair pricing

@Elaneh while researching for your legal case, I suggest some supplementary research along the lines of

  1. Vote with your money and leave if you can get cheaper
  2. email, post a letter or call Sky to give 31 days notice for cancellation of service
  3. look at other streaming platforms for your TV entertainment e.g. Sky's Now TV, Firestick, Apple TV etc
  4. look at alternate ISPs for your broadband
  5. Look at using your current Sky dish with a Freesat box, or a TV that has a Freesat tuner built in. I still use my old Sky satellite dish that way

Best of luck, whatever you do

Re: unfair pricing

@2muchTV

Thanks

I'll leave it to them to create a case I'm exhausted and overwhelmed now after his endlessly long conversations with them.

I've written to the actual chief executive to beg for help.

I think that the staff must've been playing a game yesterday to offer me a price and then immediately disconnect chat and then tell me when I rang up that they weren't going to another price because I haven't agreed it.

The complaints department sent me back to chat again and currently I'm going round with the AI bot... it keeps wanting me to check my broadband.

I can't problem is I've been told I have to return the gizmo from the satellite dish within five days along with the skybox and router. They said that immediately after I told him that I was disabled physically and would not be able to do that.

They just enjoy commenting disabled people so I'm going to opt out and just cancel it and let them take it to the bailiffs..

Did you not read my earlier post you get 60 days" after the end of your notice period for Sky to have your equipment returned to them at the end of your notice period . Who ever told you 5 days is wrong to tell you this. And the satellite dish is yours and stays were it is, it dose not need returning to sky.

@Elaneh

As already stated we have no idea what you mean by the widget or gizmo from the satellite dish. Nothing connected to the dish needs to be returned.

Perhaps consider making a complaint. As part of that Sky will be able to listen back on the original phone conversation and determine what exactly was said.
