my streaming bill has been paid but still not back on
@lyndataylor
If your services are restricted they won’t be switched back on until any arrears Sky believe you owe have been paid and you’ve also set up a new continuous payment method. Additionally until then, any calls to Sky will only prompt you to pay.
Restrictions are applied automatically and can’t be overridden by agents. Sky do NOT allow payment plans on overdue live accounts, nor will they consider promises to pay on or by a certain date.
If a payment is 2+ weeks overdue you will have to pay the next bill as well.
If payments are 56+ days overdue Sky can fully terminate your subscription (but you’ll still owe the arrears).
If this is part of a credit agreement purchase (for Sky Mobile or Sky Glass) non payment can see the credit agreement cancelled at which point the full amount becomes due in one payment.
Otherwise, once your full payment has cleared and is in Sky’s account your services should be reinstated, but this may not be instant. Any payment you make over a weekend or on a Bank Holiday won’t be processed until the following week.
You should be able to pay the bill and set up your direct debit via the MySky app or online using this link

Re: streaming
You also need to setup your payment details again after which you are waiting for the payment you made to be cleared by the banks which might not happen until Monday at the earliest.

I don't know why Sky won't switch on services once you have made a payment by card as if the card payment has gone though though it may be pending on the bank account but the card payment already shows "accepted" on Sky card payment system because as the visa/ master card System works the system contacts the relevant bank at the time customer makes the card payment and either comes back "Accepted" or "Declined" and if it accepted it means payment is guaranteed by the relvent bank that Sky will get there money. So why in this case do Sky want wait till it actually in there bank account before resuming service? If all traders were like that and you paid for groceries by card at the like of Tesco like most people do these days it would mean you would mean customers would have to return to the store the next working to collect there groceries. Can you imagine the complex situation of every one grocery be stored in the shop like tha if they done the same as Sky do.

The difference is that when you are purchasing from retailers like Tescos, you aren't going into Tescos trying to purchase groceries whilst already having an overdue debt with them.
Personally, I wouldn't blame any provider for wanting to make sure they actually receive the overdue amount from a customer before restoring/reproviding services.

True I understand what you say but the way the visa/ master card system works as I put in my post when you make a payment using your card the system then checks with your bank that details you have put are correct, and there is funds to cover the payment, also as part of that process the person you are paying request that validate the payment with the bank and bank tens confirmation of that validation back to the person you are paying system before the payment is accepted. After that I believe it impossible for the payee to stop the funds being transferred from there account. Therefore unlike the old cheque system which the payment could bounce the person you are paying request is guaranteed by the bank that they will get there money, that is the beauty of the visa/master card system. I have purchased items like iPhones from Apple with my Visa card costing nearly £1000, yet I am able to walk of the shop with my purchase with just the payment showing" pending" on my bank account such is the trust of most organisations on the visa/ master card system card system.
As far as I am aware Sky are one few providers that insist that card payment are cleared before restoring services, even if a Sky market place card payment fails that service is not even restored untill the payment has cleared ans the subscribers get the message on screen " payment in process " until it has. I have various subscriptions with various other platforms, like Netflix, Disney and paramount + ect, and if for some reason my card payment has failed for some reason, yes I lose the service from that provider but if I go the relevant provider web site and make payment by alternative like a different card, my service is immediately restored no waiting as in likes of Sky,
