Hi,
On 27th Jan I received a text from DPD UK saying that they would deliver my SKY parcel that day. Firstly I wasn't expecting one, but then I also didn't receive one. Then yesterday (8th Feb) I got a message saying the following from SKY
"Hi. We tried to take payment for your Sky Streaming subscription from your bank but weren't successful. We will try again 10 days after your original due date. Please make sure funds are available to keep your service active. For more info, visit sky.com. A late subscription fee of £10.00 might be added to your acount."
I haven't clicked on links in either text as it could potentially be phishing. But I wonder if someone has either intentionally or unintentionally connected my phone number to their new account? I haven't signed up to Sky, so I have no reason to expect these messages.
Thanks so much for your help.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@NG6712 It is possible someone has provided an incorrect mobile number to Sky, one thing to check is if a Direct Debit is setup against your bank account, reason for this is to ensure no one has signed up using your details (always best to check and rule out such activity).
Do these texts name a customer at all?

Okay thanks, I can't see any direct debits set up. Is there a way to disconnect my number from that account? Do you know who should contact? Thanks so much

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@NG6712 As you're not the account holder you won't be able to ask Sky to remove the number, it is possible the account holder will realise they have provided an incorrect number and rectify it, but other than that there isn't much you can do.
