my first payment has not direct debited

my first bill has not been taken out from sky and now showing my first bill is overdue. I already set up my direct debit details.

When did you set up the direct debit? There may not have been sufficient time for the instructions to have been passed to your bank. I'd recommend not making a manual payment unless Sky specifically ask you to.

I was just reading about late payments and able to know that sky will deduct extra 5 pounds surchage for late bill payment.

What date was your first bill due to be taken on and do you have the funds to cover it ?

My due date was 2nd of october. yess Ive enough funds in my account to cover the bill.

I would leave it for now and if it hasn't been taken by tomorrow afternoon then I would give Sky a call about it.
