excessive costs

granddaughter called a mobile and they charged 120 pounds.

In the middle of the night no less.

[Removed]

Sky wont cancel these unreasonable charges.

Sky dont allow you to cancel tv package at all.

They threaten £1000 cancellation charges

then ask for £500

They refuse to cancel unreasonable costs.

Their connection speed is 0nly 400mbps on gigafast.

but they cant find a failurge over three days to match their service promise (How convenient)

Their webpage fails all the time to allow queries.

It is a very poor service.

Who agrees ?

Re: excessive costs

With such a large charge on your mobile to be paid, I'm not sure that my agreeing or disagreeing is going to be of any benefit to sorting out your situation.

If Sky allow for limiting out of contract phone charges, I would employ that immediately so it does not happen again. Long term I would suggest looking at moving to a sim only phone deal with an account that does not allow for additional charges e.g. with my Smarty 30 day contract, I cannot make calls outside of what I pay or incur roaming charges.

Put security on your phone, e.g. finger or face recogntion so your grand daughter or anyone else has access to your phone.

You are going to have to call Sky to see how that outstanding charge can be covered and if you have justifiable reason to dispute it...  by what you have written I am not hopeful.

Best of luck and let the forum know how you get on

It's not clear if the call was made and whether they are correct?  If they are correct then I don't see why they would cancel them?

That is correct.  The contract is crystal clear that you cannot cancel if within a minimum term.  (Unless they agree)

Of course, the amount of early termination fee may be 'negotiable'.

You'd be better off posting in the broadband section of the forum.  Where the speed is measured is key.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
