billing clarification

Hi, I’ve just activated my Sky Mobile SIM. When I took the plan, I understood that I would pay £10 per month for 10GB of data, with unlimited calls and texts included. However, when I checked my Sky bill, I can see a charge of £16.45 for 2 October to 31 October, and it says my bill from November will be £17 per month. I can also see separate charges for calls/texts and the 10GB data. Could you please explain why my monthly charge is £17 rather than the £10 per month I was quoted? Also, is the £16.45 for October simply a prorated first bill because I activated the SIM partway through the billing period? I’d just like to understand exactly what I’m being charged for and what my normal monthly payment will be going forward.

@Sky510

Can you view what will be your December bill, what does that show ?

If that is also wrong and you have no email confirmation of the monthly price of this sim all you can do is to call Sky on 150 tomorrow about this.

Re: billing clarification

Yeah, I checked my December bill too. It’s still showing around £17 per month for the SIM only.

The reason I’m confused is that I went to a physical Sky store to ask about switching from my previous provider while keeping my existing number. During the conversation, I was offered a SIM plan for £10 a month with unlimited calls and texts and 10GB of data. The SIM was then delivered to me afterwards; I didn’t purchase or collect it from the store.

I also wanted to check if it’s normal for the billing period of October 2–30 and the November 1–30 period to appear together on the November bill, as I’m wondering if that explains why the first bill was higher.

I don’t have an email confirmation of the £10 offer because it was discussed with the staff in the physical store. I may need to call Sky on to have this checked, but I wanted to ask here first in case there’s anything else I can check or provide.

@Sky510  As Sky bill a month in advance and you have recently setup your SIM your first bill will cover more than one month to bring you up to date.

You will need to call Sky regarding the offer, it would have been better if you had signed up online or over the phone as you would have received confirmation of the order.
