Would like my credit refunded

My account this morning said I needed to pay my bill. I paid the bill confused as I always pay direct debit. Then later in the day my direct debit came out, so I've paid twice, it's a lot of money and would like to have the extra payment refunded. What can I do?

@Sally127 The obvious answer is call Sky and ask for a refund.

Refunds take on average  six weeks to go in to  your  bank account call sky in the morning  but also might be  worth  giving your back a ring to see if they can stop the transaction

The issue that calling the bank may cause is that if they try to stop the direct debit payment going out then the account will be deemed as not paid as the manual payment from this morning goes as credit towards next months bill and wouldn't go to paying this months bill.

 

@Sally127 is the additional extra payment showing as a credit on your Sky account? If so we can escalate to Sky's Messaging Team to see if they can request a refund of the credit ( which typically takes 5 working days).

I didn't  mean cancel  the direct debit  but the manual  payment  that you  have made
