Why is sky all online!?

What is the point in having "virtual assistants" who don't actually assist you. Why can't I speak to an actual human being who can help me sort ot my problems. It's infuriating. The point of being human is to make HUMAN connections not VIRTUAL ASSISTANT connections.

im not very tech savvy im losing the plot and quite honestly sky is [removed] because of this. Why can't I talk to a human person who can actually help me and understand my questions instead of a robot who can't understand a word im saying because its not in their registered vocabulary!? Im sick of it. Since when did sky turn to chat bots to communicate when they can't help you do the things YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO DO and instead send you in circles. I've been a sky customer for years and what is the thanks i get. Oh the pleasure of talking to a robot who doesn't have any braincells to register the actual question im asking!!!!!

Sky is literally not the same company it was years ago: it's now an overseas division of a major American media corporation, and like every other such business has increasingly moved to automated support systems because employing people is expensive and profits are thin.

Sky is actually expanding one of their UK support bases, but has closed others and moved some call-handling to cheaper countries: that's really not unusual.

@Kaityisnotokay I thought you posted here because you wanted help. You've now been offered help with a human adviser. You don't need to negotiate the call answering system.

Sadly because Sky doesn't invest in human customers support, when it does picks the cheapest option, if you live in the Uk the answer comes from Mumbai in India. ,  also

English in the Indian accent is so strong as a old customer with not very good hearing, I have to give up just can't understand. It Not their fault but Skys  for not having a UK  call centre!

I've always used the chat option of late - definitely works better than verbal.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Sky does still have contact centres in the UK.

If there are health/medical issues which affect communicating with Sky, register with the Sky Accessibility Team who may be able to help now or in the future. Once registered there are different methods of communication other than phoning so have a look at these related links… ~
