Why do sky continuously trying to take multiple payments?

I have my sky glass/streaming, broadband and family's mobiles all with sky. Every month on the same date for 14 months now I have paid manually, I have never missed a bill or been late paying it and I never agreed to a direct billing agreement.
In my sky account it shows I do not have a DD or automatic debit card payment set up (which is correct) Despite manually paying I am constantly harassed with payment attempts for all 3 services directly from my bank for weeks after I've paid them each month and then inundated with txts and emails telling me my payment has failed and to contact them to prevent them switching my services off. Every month I have to go through this rigmarole of calling them, them seeing that it's been paid and then explaining to me the attempts at taking payments and the emails etc are just automated and to ignore them.......but if I ignore them my services DO get suspended until I call and point out that it's been paid!! I've constantly denied setting up a direct payment and I pay manually without fail so how are they able to keep doing this without my say so and why is it happening every single month. I was told they still have my bank details as I had to gave it to them when I originally signed up.....that's fine  but I've never set up any automatic payments and have given no authority for sky to use them but as explained every month it's the same. I cannot have automatic payments or DD as my very basic bank account doesn't allow it so not only is sky causing issues but each time they try to take a payment my bank contacts me to remind me this service is unavailable and i get charged for setting up an unauthorised debit. How do I stop this ongoing circus aa no one listens to me and I've had enough.

@Anonymous  The T&C's are clear you must pay by Direct debit or recurring card payment, the fact you have provided card details previously Sky will use them.

If you didn't make manual payments you wouldn't have this issue, simply stop making manual payments and pay how your supposed to pay.  Problem solved.

Annoying for you, maybe you could change your bank that does direct debits @Anonymous Its a lot less hassle.

Re: Why do sky continuously trying to take multiple payments?

As I mentioned due to certain reasons I have a specific bank account that doesn't allow DD. I also don't own a debit card so it's not debit card payments they try and take.

I came to this board for advice on who/which department I should talk too as calling each services CS (sky streaming, mobile and broadband) each month is making no difference.
Your response although unhelpful is appreciated.

Re: Why do sky continuously trying to take multiple payments?

Hi, I wish I could.

For reasons I won't go into it's the only bank account I'm able to have...so it's not just sky I struggle with however sky are the only ones who continually reset up DD after I cancel them.

The fact that I pay manually has never been an issue for them (which is good) and as mentioned they are always helpful in turning my services back on as it's an automated thing that they have no control over.....one quick call and they can see it's been paid so they push the button but I can't seem to find anyone who can help understand that the DD being repeatedly set up without my permission is an issue and i don't know how to make it stop 🤦🏼‍♀️

It may just be the way it is as long as im with them and it is only a minor inconvenience but i just wondered if there was a specific department i could talk too?

thanks for your response, I appreciate it.

The billing team would be the people to speak to but I would do it with low expectations as they might say there is nothing they can do for you.

Re: Why do sky continuously trying to take multiple payments?

Thankyou.

As I said to someone else it is a minor inconvenience so it's not the end of the world but I wondered if there was someone specific or a certain team I could talk too that I didn't know about.

Thankyou for your response ☺️
