Re: When Sky is less than honest?

My issue is that Sky forced my to talk to an agent and neither would offer the Internet offer.

I think they call this Bait and Switch.

I believe this contravenes the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regs 2008. But I was hoping not to take things down this road.

@ancientferguson Its not a case of the agents wouldn't offer you the internet only deal, it's that they can't, the same applies for pretty much every provider i've ever used(some have even told me go online as the deals there can be better).

While your dealings with Sky would be frustrating its not uncommon or unique to Sky(personally i could even imagine calling 5 times and dealing with the woeful automated system).

Its quite clear from your first post that you have a distrust of Sky and are somewhat set on trying to imply they are engaging in shady business, so quite why you would even consider becoming a customer again seems rather odd to me.

Re: When Sky is less than honest?

@daveNOS You are absolutely correct in that I don't believe Sky are "transparent and consistent" with their pricing, like the Sky Help Desk agent suggested and as a company I don't like their policies. That is the reason I wanted to use their services on a monthly rolling contract.

Right now, I intend to seek an explanantion from them and my post here was to sound out those that have had more experience with them than I.

Fair treatment, is something I no longer expect, but if they are going to treat me badly, I want to know why and who makes the rules. This has absolutely nothing to do with money, purely principal. Of the 25,000 sales I have made with my own product, I have steadfastly treated everybody the same, regardless.

@daveNOS And because I can't seem to edit my posts; if I could select the online deal, I would have done, but they force me to the agents, all of which have different stories.  Additionally three Helpdesk agents and three different teams had three different stories.

Surely, you get where I am coming from?

@ancientferguson Yes and no, i get your interaction with the agents was frustrating, but expecting the same response form them all is  just not going to happen(and im guessing if they did you'd be here complaining they all read from the same script as we see posted frequently when that happens), while they all should have access to the same information its somewhat inevitable that they may interpret that differently.

Yes its frustrating but there is nothing shady about it.

The bit i don't get at all is your obvious distrust of Sky and why you would even entertain joining as a customer given that distrust, to me that's just bizarre.

Re: When Sky is less than honest?

@daveNOS I thought I had explained that?

I don't expect all agents to respond the same, but I certainly do expect the system that is in front of them to offer the same deal.

It would seem from the second and lengthy call that they were just pulling deals out of thin air. All of the deals were poorer than what was offered online. I would love to post the call for everybody to listen to, its pure cringe.

If you dont want to accept what I am saying, that is your prerogative.
