What do I do
Sky stream were alright but sky broadband don't let you cancel.. as soon as I tried they added on a new service I didn't request. I cancelled my direct debit because I was desperate to speak to someone and ended up getting scammed. I think they are monsters and regret the day I signed up to them

You can cancel Sky Broadband/Talk but there may be early cancellation charges.
If you’re moving to another ISP you could use the One Touch Switching system which is hopefully the easiest method and explained in this link ~ NOTE: it only applies to broadband and Talk and not a TV subscription.

If you are cancelling Broadband/Talk altogether you need to contact Sky and give the required notice of 14 days. Remember that if you are still in a discounted 18/24 months deal Sky could impose cancellation charges.
Return packaging for any equipment Sky expect back will be sent out to you near the end of any notice period. Remember to keep any proof of posting indefinitely.

Cancelling your payment method has consequences so isn't recommended. Doing that is always going to cause you additional problems. Your services will be restricted, you won't be able to speal to Sky, you won't be able to cancel, late payment fees will be added and eventually Sky will involve a debt recovery company which may affect your credit rating.

Re: What do I do
Cancelling your direct debit will only mean you will not be able to talk to them as you will be asked to set it up again if you try to.
You say they wouldn't let you cancel, is this because you are still within the minimum term of a contract ?
