@Harvo2  This isn't something Sky will allow

the following applies

If you have a continuous payment method setup (direct debit or card) and first attempt fails Sky will automatically retry 10 calendar days later (so don't make a manual payment unless Sky requests you too) if that second attempt fails an automatic process of restrictions will kick in (which we've been told can't be overriden by sky cs agents) starting with tv followed a few days later by broadband if sky is your isp

if restrictions are imposed they won't be lifted until the outstanding payment is paid in full and a new continuous payment method is setup

Note: if you don’t have a continuous payment setup the 10 day grace period does not apply and therefore unless full payment due is showing as credit on your account by payment due date restrictions will be applied almost instantly

also note sky don’t do payment plans or promises to pay on active accounts I’m afraid

@Harvo2

No it's not false information.

Restrictions are an automated process and we’ve been told Customer Service agents can’t stop it… even if you’re told otherwise on the phone. Sky don’t allow payment plans (except on a legitimately closed account) or a promise to pay on or by a certain date.

@Harvo2  I'm afraid customer service agents are known for telling customers want they to hear rather than give the correct information

leaving the community to pick up the pieces and give the correct information which both myself and @Daniel0210 have given you

I fully expect your services to be restricted in the near future without payment, if they aren't you can consider yourself fortunate as it's not something that happens very often based on the number of posts we deal with on this subject on a regular basis after restrictions are applied after customers were told they wouldn't be

@Harvo2

If you searched the forum for posts where the customer has been told there services wouldn't be restricted and then low and behold there services stop working you'd see this is a common scenario.

If you have a Direct Debit set up and the full payment fails on the normal payment date Sky will automatically attempt it again 10 calendar days later (DO NOT be tempted to make a manual payment in this period as that will go as a credit for NEXT months bill).

After 10 days, if that second attempt also fails Sky may send a text and/or email notifying you that your payment has failed again and you then have a day or two at best before they restrict your services.

If you have a Continuous Card payment method set up, if the full payment fails Sky send the text/email notification about the failed payment and you usually have at best 2/3 days before being restricted.

@Harvo2

Because the automated system stops calls going to an agent once the account is restricted, you obviously spoke to them before any restrictions were due.

Perhaps you'd like to come back with your insults once you've gone past your normal payment date and your service still isn't restricted.

Re: Waive until I get paid

@Harvo2  best of luck?

There have been numerous cases of agents saying services will not be restricted if paid by by such and such a date and then the automatic suspension kicking in and lo and behold that customer is here telling that story.

Sky may have changed their policy but personally I very much doubt it.

The on,y way may be able to do that is change your payment date to later in the month when you have been paid. But Sky won't do that just one  month it has been permant change. And  your will find  next bill will be high than normal  to cover the day between you old payment date and the new one

@DaveDrizen

Just to point out that if the OP has already been warned their services are being cut off, Sky have already tried and failed to take a payment , so any change in payment date now would take affect next month.
