Upgrade grumble

Hi. Has anyone else not online savvy had feelings of frustration when upgrading? I have looked online and saw parts of my package was out of contract and I should upgrade now and be charged £10 for the privilege. I called for help and a lovely lady looked at my account and said she could do nothing because I was on a good deal anyway and the £10 was an admin fee and she wouldn't do anything about that either. So I signed back online and upgraded feeling totally fed up after going round and round in circles trying to see my best options . Gave up. Upgraded paid the £10. Then saw an offers page with things cheaper than I am now paying for the next while. Rant over. I try to be independent. But feel like I have nowhere to turn. There used to be such nice helpful online and phone people. But now it seems they can only tell me what I already now. Fed up. Can't even get a real person on chat.

If it makes you feel any better, most offers that Sky advertise are for new customers

Thank you just make me wonder what benefits long term customers have!

That's pretty much just Sky VIP. You would be hard pressed to find much in the way of financial benefit nowadays I'm afraid.

I wonder if I'd have better service if I was to say I was leaving. Thing is I feel obliged to pay as there is nothing comparable

You could try ring sky again  and ask to talk to the retention team, I  did  that in February  of this year and got a really good  deal on a two year contract,  top line tv package  with whole home sky sports, cinema,  kids, dolby atmos and uhd, ads skipping sky ultimate, and netfixs premium all for £70 a month, I  have 2 55inch sky glass tvs  a gen 1 and a gen 2 a puck, sky live camera, 43inch  lg, smart tv, also got a good  2 deal on my gigafast  broadband of £43 a month too you can get good deals, I  said to them that I have been with  you  for  18 years and  why are  new customers  able to  get a puck and the package with broadband  for a total of £120 a month, the retention team  have better it for me for the next 2 years you just have to be prepared  to Huggle or walk away

Thank you. I wish I'd known about the retention team. Well November is when some other parts of the contract renews and I'll be up and fighting!
